Laine proposal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Play_Party_Hard</b></div><div>I think Puustinen will be fine at the NHL level with the right C.</div></div>
he's too small to be a bottom 6 player and he's not good enough to be a top 6 player.
He's your prototypical ahl/nhl tweener. Good enough to score some points, but he's really not an NHLer.
Fact is he doesn't have much room on this team especially on the LW. Bunting and DOC will make up the middle 6. He has no business on a 4th line.
If they bring in a 1LW they will shift Smith to RW, Rust, Rakell, Smith will fill out the top 9 RW. Again he has no business on the 4th line.
So I don't really see how he really fits in next year other than riding pine or in the AHL.

no one is giving you a 2nd for Robertson least of all the penguins.
next you'll be trading him to DAL.

Laine proposal
why would the penguins, a team trying to get more picks in the draft.... give them up for a guy in the player assistance program.
They also aren't moving Smith for FC.
This is not a cash strapped team, and it's better to keep Smith than rely on Puustinen.
OEL is also earning himself a payday bigger than that right now.

3 way with NYR and CBJ - Laine
Kakko isn't a 1st line winger.
He's not worth retaining 2mil per for 2 seasons either with also giving up a 2nd round pick.
The guy is Yakupov 2.0
5th season in the league he had 19 points.... 19.
who would do this for a player who puts up 19 points?
No one.
No that there is much hope for this team. It's basically being run like a good ol' boys club at this point.
Our assistant coaches are Sully's friends, our AHL coach is Spezza's friends...... they aren't a real hockey club at this rate.
It's like signing Jack Johnson because he's Crosby's friend.
We can't expect this team to win like this.
I don't know what owner group is doing but they better wake up.

depends really, can Hayton stay healthy?
If MP had term he's worth more for sure.
The injury history and lack of any real production after 5 years isn't helping Hayton's value.

you traded bust older prospects with no NHL future for another teams draft picks and you think you got a "right to be chapped" .....
no one is being rude man, just point out how your trade actually looks.
It would be like me sending Kasper Björkqvis and Joseph Masonius to BOS for a 4th round pick.
There is no way BOS fans wouldn't say the same damn thing, so maybe get over it.

VAN BEST OFF-SEASON EVER
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMHockey</b></div><div>Like Bjorkvist; Jasek is in Europe for the next two seasons so it's basically VAN bringing assistant coach Yogi Svejkovskys son into the organization (and getting another needed RH forward in Abbotsford). In return Vancouver sends McDonough to re-unite with Rathbone in Pittsburgh. Also a change of scenery trade for all prospects involved.</div></div>
not a single one of those prospects is ever playing at the NHL level. so like I said, you can have them for free if you want them.
I hardly doubt the penguins would get in the way. They have 0 plans for Björkqvist, and they think so highly of Svejkovsky he's been in the EHL on a team with like no prospect depth.

I know at this point I'm just feeding your Narcissism, so I'm not gonna go back and quote every comment you left in this thread. But you haven't defined a franchise played you just said "talent level vs peers" Robertson? Hintz? miro?
The sharks have tanked well and drafted well and are still a couple years away from being a legit contender. But they're executing the tank pretty well and when they are ready to compete guys like Smith and Celebrini will have NHL games under their belt. They're gonna be fun to watch.</div></div>
oh here you go again raging away.
Learn to read man, I have stated multiple times on the FP.
I'm not going back into that, you will just have to learn to read.
And no one said they wouldn't be fun to watch, but winning and fun to watch are two different things. When you start stacking good young players it's going to start to equal wins. Those NHL games under the belt will come at the cost of not drafting in the bottom. But you simply don't get that now do you?
Which was the whole point. No one said they were bad players. The whole point is they are decent players who will ruin the whole idea of tanking when they are on the ice.
Preventing them from getting the pieces they need to get a real contender instead of just a stuck in the middle team.
But that whole point is just lost on fanboi's raging trying to act like they are smarter while throwing their "tanty"
But you over here raging because someone points this out and it's not just a fanboi "cup soon" group think meat head post.
Get over yourself

NHL ready, he's listed at not even 160lbs.
Even if he did fill out and turn into a decent player, it's not going to make the penguins take on that Skinner contract in a year they are trying to resign Crosby.

I’ve always liked Skinner, but trading a pick for a player like him, at that age, is not the direction that Dubas is taking. He is looking to infuse youth, and rightfully so.</div></div>
Dubas said the same thing last year.... then signed a bunch of old guys.
I fully expect the same thing this year. But maybe he'll learn his lesson and only sign people on 1 year deals.
Having said that, this trade is awful for the penguins and a 3rd isn't nearly enough for them to take that contract. Nor do I think they will even consider doing that in a year where they are trying to resign Crosby.

there is no way the penguins are taking on a 32 year old 9 mil winger
That's just out the question here.
When....not if.... the team starts their rebuild, maybe you will be able to move that contract on them for a price.
But they aren't giving up MP in order to take that contract when he scored 40 some points last year, let alone give up MP to take that contract and only get an unprotected 1st.
