What could Ehlers extension look like
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Icelander24</b></div><div>I’m just trying to come at this from a realistic perspective. Pulock is almost certainly not being moved so the only other player than could be moved to match salary a little is Pageau. I’d be fine with moving Mayfield, but he also has a NTC and plus I’m not sure you actually should want him lol. So IF there was a deal between the Isles and Jets it would almost certainly have to look like this plus maybe a pick extra or whatever. I think that might be able to get it done but another team could certainly put bid them.</div></div>
I understand haha, just making jokes with the Dubois comparison. I realize it's unlikely NYI moves on from Pulock but that would be the guy WPG would want. There would probably be better fits trade-wise with other teams if Pulock is a no go.

"Dubois only wanted to play in MTL so WPG doesn't have much leverage" ;)
Any team getting Ehlers would be acquiring him for a full year, as opposed to acquiring him at the deadline so his price will be higher than this. Also, correct me if I am wrong but isn't Pageau viewed as more of a cap dump?
I think Ehlers comes in around $6.5-$7m.

McGroarty is as untouchable as it gets in WPG...but purely value-wise, that trade is quite far off. McGroarty > Matheson AND WPG is adding a high 2nd round pick on top of that?

PerfettiPionk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FoxYou727</b></div><div>out of curiosity what would you want in a Perfetti trade? I have loved him since his Saginaw days</div></div>
Good question, I truly haven't put much thought into a value trade-wise for Perfetti but my best guess is IF they were to move him, it would either be in a package for a true top 4 RHD + or a similar player (young, 1st round talent etc) that fit a need (defence prospect). I feel like that's not really a good answer but I honestly am not quite sure.

Good signing, assuming this is a one way deal and he'll be up full time next year.

I agree with you 100% unfortunately. He would just be such a good fit but I realize there is almost no chance.

A 3 year deal like that would be perfect, I'd be very happy with that. I got the impression Monahan wanted to move but who knows, I could very well be wrong on that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CF18GM</b></div><div>I think of all those UFA signings, DeMelo is the only realistic one... maybe Driedger since he'd be looking for any type of opportunity and he's from here (and prob Hutch too). No way Stephenson signs here.
Heinola and Pionk pairing seems like a major liability. I think you'd have to do JMo/Pulock, Samby/Pionk, Heinola/Melo (also, still not convinced Pulock waives).
I think WPG needs Monahan for stability down the middle and for his calming presence. Hopefully they figure out a not-too-long, not-too-expensive way to go about it.</div></div>
All fair points, I agree with the defensive pairings as well...I didn't like the Heinola/Pionk pairing when I submitted.
