So we're downgrading from Matheson to Chychrun who on top of being a lesser Defenseman also has only one year on his contract and all that for getting rid of a one year contract we can afford (dvorak) ?!?!

Also Xhekaj shouldn't be traded when we have enough other pieces we can spend to trade for young players (i don't think it should be zegras anyways)

The habs was better with Dvorak at the end of the season. He's a good 3rd center and Sens has the cap. The 10th OA pick was a bit much for Chychrun. I'd do it for the 10th OA

With the Desharnais signing, Xhekaj is tradable and I think his value is at a peak and he always will be a 3rd pair D

We're not convinced that Sean Farrell is an impact player in the NHL, a LhD (no matter how highly you value him) as a major element of a Trevor Zegras trade is unappealing given that we have even greater strength and depth there than you do, and the Winnipeg first doesn't have much wow factor when we own the Edmonton first. Our standing ask for Zegras remains the same: a quality right-handed forward prospect like Owen Beck or Filip Mesar plus your 2024 first-round draft pick. If that seems high, understand that contrary to popular but misguided rumor, Zegras isn't on the block and it would take a high-quality, high-value offer to get him. We're perfectly willing to keep him as one of our top 6 for the rest of the decade.

Devils decline that with prejudice. There’s not a chance they trade for Mike Matheson, especially for the 10th overall pick. Mike Matheson would be completely redundant to Luke Hughes in the lineup. Mike matheson would have a fraction of the points he has now if he were on the devils. There’s no chance and there’s no counter offer.

He had one of the hardest shots in the league, good enough of a skater to play on MTL 2nd PP unit last season , tough as nails, an absolute unit of tank, 6'4 ... so what if he'll be on the so called 3rd pair ???
