How's the logic I am using. Never once disrespected your player. All i said was college players and the point they had on their team in college doesn't always translate especially for a DMan. That's all. He's also small so he will have to get adapted to the strength of the NHL so he will need time</div></div>
I don’t blame you for wanting to hang on to Rossi. All good there. Casey’s size really isn’t as much of a problem as some think. Cale Makar, Adam Fox, and Quinn Hughes all have the same physical attributes. Seamus is a really exciting prospect with an expanding ceiling.

I also wouldn't miss Casey too much if we wanted to move him to a rebuilder as part of a package for G, D, 3C, or top-6 winger. I'm not really sure how Casey fits into the long-term plan given our current defensive core.

Not sure Markstrom is the guy to get given all the futures the Devils have to play with - but if Markstrom were somehow the guy, I'd like to see Siegs taken out of the deal.

LD/G - think we’re bad D/G trade partners for a 10 overall. There was an old post Buch and StL 1st for NJ 1st that was pretty intriguing, but I think the gap on the difference between those 1st has since closed.

Personally, I like to see NJ move this pick for a player as opposed to more futures. We have enough of those at the moment and glaring needs on D and G that this pick could be used for. If we're using the draft asset calculator, the offer here is coming in a bit short. The 2nd rd pick would need to be in the 37-39OA. Close, but I'm not sure this package gets it done.

Fun to see what that top-6 looks like with JG; however, I think he'll end up getting around $8M

I agree that Marino's value is tough to gauge but I think your value is in range.
My issue with the Marino moves is that NJ shouldn't be looking at more futures/prospects.
Hughes and Nemec should be protected by acquiring guys that can play ~20 minutes per night so that the pressure is taken off of LH and SN from having to carry that burden at 19 and 20 years old.

I’m still not sure how that gets the10 overall plus additional assets. It’s a terrible trade for NJ

Who do we think Markstrom is? A 10 overall would be an insane return. Do you have a comparable trade for a 35-36 year old goalie?

I don't think JVR fits.

I think NJ accepts. Petey fits nicely, especially retained.
A think a simpler deal would be a 2nd and 3rd but that prospect list wouldn't be an issue.

I think NJ considers that pretty seriously - and is probably the first Mercer deal I've seen on here that makes sense for NJ.

There are plenty of other assets at NJ's disposal than Mercer.
Holtz, Bahl, Casey, Top-10 overall, 2025 1st.
If Boston wants to play games, there are other goalies to go and get (Saros, Jarry, Markstrom)
