Buckle up, bud. You aren't getting anywhere near that much for Marner. At least, not from CHI.

Well, this site is ALL hypotheticals. So you might be in the wrong place.
An aging veteran forward that is VERY overpaid, is not even in the same ballpark of hypotheticals as trading a rookie generational talent.

Blackhawks get Necas
What teams get for their players in trade, is almost always less than what fans expect. And, although I don't believe CHI should be willing to pay what it would take to get Necas, this definitely ain't it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SNipeSHowInc</b></div><div>You absolutely don’t need to pay to get rid of Tavares, let alone pay a first</div></div>
If you want us to pay his $7M bonus, which this proposal seems to suggest because the pick would happen before bonuses are paid out, then yes, TOR will have to pay us to take his contract. The only way TOR gets anything for Tavares is, first, obviously he needs to be willing to waive, and second, TOR is willing to retain 50%, which would defeat the purpose of moving him in the first place.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JustAnotherHockeyFan</b></div><div>Actually, ALL THAT MATTERS, is that the Sabres aren’t looking to move Skinner. And a handful of fans on here doesn’t change that. He’s going nowhere. The end</div></div>
Ok smart guy. This is all hypothetical. CHI is one of few teams that can realistically take on a contract like that. So, IN A HYPOTHETICAL SKINNER DUMP, IF they do want to move hime, AND he is willing to waive his nmc, THIS is what it will cost. See, I can type in caps too. Why are you so up in arms about this anyway, nucks fan?

The question I really have is whether TOR would ever really make such an offer! Part of me strongly doubts it.</div></div>
If they want cap relief, they probably should. If I were KD I wouldn't be willing to do anything less. We just don't need any more picks unless they are high picks. But, I guess we will see.

He hasn’t been bad, he’s just overpaid
Sabres aren’t looking to move him
It’s not happening</div></div>
That is all that matters. In comparison to his contract, he has been playing very poorly. That is just the truth. He is not worth anything close to a $9M aav, which makes him a negative asset. Also, CHI aren't the ones who started this. Go tell BUF fans this, if you believe it so firmly. They are the originators of dumping him and using their 1st as payment. No one is taking on 3 years of a $9m cap hit for nothing, though.

First off, why are you paying anything, let alone that much, for KK?
Second, that isn't enough to dump Skinner and acquire Murphy.

I don't think DET's front office thinks as little of Chiarot as some DET fans do. But, as a CHI fan, I firmly believe the only interest CHI should have in him is if they are being compensated to take him. Same with Fabbri and Holl, but to a slightly lesser degree due to lower cap hits and/or less term. So, if CHI is giving DET $12.15M in cap relief for next season, and $8.15M for the following season, something like this is a more than fair ask.

Hawks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tugspiedman</b></div><div>I agree with the continued focus on acquiring high end draft capitals by utilizing our cap. Those particular trades may not be the most realistic ones though -- unlikely Johnny T waives his NMC for Chicago and I don't think Detroit is willing to part ways with all those picks to move those guys.
I imagine other GMs will offer more than what we are / should be willing to for Saros & Ehlers. I generally don't see the hawks making a trade for a star player this offseason, unless it's for an overpaid one where we are compensated or don't give up valuable future pieces to make it happen.
On the RFA front, I'd like to give Crevier and Guttman one more year to see what they've got, esp Crevier given our lack of RDs in the system. I also think Anderson deserves to come back as a depth forward</div></div>
Ditto on all of this, especially the Anderson part. Love that guy. If people are going to offer dirt for him, we should absolutely just keep him. We don't need more mid to late round picks and he isn't worth a 1st, at this point. But he showed a lot of promise in his role this past season and I honestly feel like he could be a solid long term bottom 6 forward for CHI.

What use does a rebuilding CHI team have for not only giving up a good young prospect for nothing but also taking other teams garbage and giving them cap relief with no compensation? Think before you speak.
Edit: didn't realize this was already responded to. I just refreshed the page. lol

A better question might be "Why would CHI buy him?" We have plenty of guys we already own the rights to that are also waiver exempt and running out of time to prove themselves at the NHL level.
