Why do Leaf fans think one year Saros is worth anything? Just sign a UFA, and there are lots of good ones
More silliness about Tavares waiving

There are no UFA goaltenders of his caliber this year.

True, but he hardly a difference maker. Leafs aren't trading their only true centre prospect and seven years of control and first for the pleasure of one year of Saros.

Hawks decline. Take out the 3rd going back to the Leafs and the Hawks probably accept. Provided the Leafs pay JT's $7m bonus first.

Hardly a difference maker? he has like a .916 average over the last 5 years. I go to Preds games quite often. He is the most underrated goalie in the league.

Saying Saros isn't a difference maker is insane. He lead the league in quality starts last year (42) and stolen games (14). Quality starts are games in which he had a positive GSAx and stolen games are where the GSAx was more than the differential in the final score. Last year he should've been a Vezina nominee and arguably should have won it. Why you're saying he's not an impact player is beyond me, but I recommend doing some research to back that claim up. Because there's more than enough proof out there that Juuse Saros is an elite goalie and a big difference maker in the NHL

Goaltending is the most important position and one of the biggest issues with the Leaf's. They need to lock down a goaltender that's not going to be hurt or let in soft goals.

Minten is not going to be a valuable to the Leaf's on ice during the next 3-4 years

Yes. How many back-breaking & soft goals have been let in by Campbell, Samsonov, and Freddy over the years? How many games did Vasilevskiy, Price, Bobrovsky, and Swayman completely steal against the Leafs in the playoffs over the years?
