Description
They probably won't make every trade but do these expectations seem reasonable? This TDL is shaping up to be a buyer's market IMO. I traded to all Eastern teams because there is still an outside chance at a wildcard spot. Opted for mostly NHL-ready guys but the bigger goal is to build the pool with the picks and get ready for another push in 2-3 yrs when we see what we've got with Bolduc and Snuggerud and the 2023 picks.

Opted for Walsh because he's already 23 going on 24 and I can't see a future in NJ for him behind Dougie, Marino, Nemec, Hughes, Bahl, Shakir, etc. Going to be waiver eligible next season, isn't there a chance they move him at the TDL?

Leafs and Barbashev are a match that make sense to me, with retention Leafs take that deal

Id do it, doubt everyone agrees. More than fair value and would be fun to have an ovi-kuzy-vlad line.

I want McMike to succeed and think St. Louis would be a good fit for him.

On any given team Acciari should serve fine as a bottom 6 fwd, but the Devils already have a surplus of forwards as is.
Guys like Zetterlund, Boqvist and Holtz all run risk of having to be scratched now that Palat and Bastian are returned from IR.
When given the choice I'd rather just play one Zetterlund, Boqvist or Holtz over Acciari, therefore I see no point in why the Devils should part with a fairly intriguing prospect like Reilly Walsh.

Walsh (and Bahl) might find themselves without any roster spot in New Jersey next season also.
If the Blues feel the need for an NHL ready RHD at a 6 figure cap hit and room to grow Walsh could easily be had for a 3rd rd pick.

That's fair, I'd peg Acciari's rental value around a 3rd rounder but understand if there isn't a fit on the roster.

Can't imagine the Blues would be terribly interested in any of those four players. Each of those teams have far more suitable pieces that can be included, I think.

Yeah positionally there would be some redundancies in the battle for bottom 6 center spots but I think RHD has to be an area where they add and try something new. I aimed relatively low on the prospects, they're less important than the picks IMO, and I figure the rental market is going to favor the buyers, hard to imagine any quality prospects on the move. We'd be lucky to get '23 picks.

I don't hate the Caps deal. I'd rather get a mid or late round pick than Bortuzzo though

1 - Not just that, but it's mostly guys who are minus skaters, and the one who is kinda average is a total lazy ass. Positions, yes, but also the type of players don;t fit.

2 - I have no idea why that should be. They can be more important, and quicker to help, if you pick the right ones. My point is not to aim super high, just good fits for what we need. smile

3 - Heh. Yeah, the buyers always tell everyone how it's a buyer's market... then tons of buyers show up, and suddenly we have tugs-of war. We know what happens then.

4 - Again, not sure why you say that. We have some very valuable pieces to a playoff team trying to win, let alone some of the desperate franchises out there. And as always, I'll just conclude this particular point with...

Bortuzzo is worth more than that to the Blues, he won't be traded.

Mikkola probably gets re-signed recently he's been around 20 minutes per game he's probably apart of the revamp we have. Tarasenko wouldn't be a bad deal, but might be a better prospect than McMichael.

1,000% wouldn't want Villenueve with his skating issues. Unfortunately with a later 2nd we'd want a better prospect, but toronto won't trade Knies so probably a no go.

I personally don't like the ROR deal. Beecher isn't exactly an amazing prospect. Lysell would be my honest answer as a guy Blues ideally want, but it also depends on if you get an extension or not.

Blues are gonna keep Acciari he's the glue. Blues love him he's probably going to be here for at least another couple years.

I could definitely see those happening, maybe lesser on the Bruins deal. Seems like their ask got leaked (Not sure if a smokescreen or not) and it was triple that. Overall, a good restart for the Blues

if its a buyer's market you're not getting a first and a top prospect for tarasenko
