Description
If Demidov and Lindstrom are taking in the top 4 of this years draft, I think there are 3 other guys montreal could take (Iggy, Cole 2.0, Catton). IMO cole has the highest ceilling with an incredible shot. He has consistency issues and is not the best defensively but that can change as he matures. He just scores 9 goals in 7 games at U18 and i think he would excel playing on a second line with dach and roy. I know montreal puts a lot of emphasis on a winning mentality and idk where he stands on that. i think skill wise its gotta be him or Catton but Iggy is looking like a late bloomer and I would be happy with any of those 3.

I also think trading for knight is an interesting option. Im not quite sure what is price would be. He could be very expensive due to his high potential but he has struggled in the nhl at times over the past few years. I also hope his time in the players assistance program helped him become better in every way. His stock might also decrease because i dont think florida wants to pay 15million for goalies next year unless they don't want to resign reinhart and montour. I also dont think they can/want to get rid of Bob.

Pass on trading for Knight, I think Fowler is the real deal and likely gets his ELC if he continues his solid play in 2024-25. I also think once he gets signed it will be his net to lose in short order, the Kid is absolutely amazing

Yeah, going Berkly Catton should be the pick imo. He is so underrated this draft, it’s not even funny. He’s the perfect pick as a 2-way forward, and having better center depth in Suzuki, Catton is never a bad thing. Eiserman I wouldn’t want personally, due to his defensive game especially. It is something you can make stronger, but there is a not so good defensive game, then there is him. It’s so bad, that I would not want to take the gamble honestly. That’s a player I could see falling out of the top 10… way too many uncertainties.. more so than a lot of the other guys imo.

If both are gone at 5th overall jump on the Iginla train and let unidimension Eiserman or mini Catton out of the equation.

Pretty sure that Eiserman won’t be selected top 10. He seem to have a attitude issue. Is body language doesn’t fit what the Habs are looking for. Eiserman as shown lots of frustration in many occasion this year when he wasn’t having the puck on the powerplay. Not a team player.
