Buium you may have to just trade up a few spots, but for Parekh, imo, he will either be chosen by Utah, or Ottawa. He would be a harder one, but a good guy to build the defence around. Nygard, or Eiserman would be solid forwards.. Eiserman I think could be a sneaky good pick, however, his laziness, and defensive ability are brutal. He could be a good sniper though if a team is willing to be patient with him.
They will get a good player regardless though. Yakemchuk, I personally like for the pick. Good defence man.

Yakemchuk could help there… It will be interesting to see who they choose with that pick.

Have a great one! Take care!

Why would Seattle do this? Matheson does not help them with Dunn, Oleksiak, and Dumoulin on the left side…

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Edmonton isn't trading Ceci for nothing though. If they move him it'll be for a 2nd+. He's been excellent over the last 10 games, allowing just 2 GA (all situations),the fewest in the league, while playing the 3rd most TOI at 5v5 among Oilers defensemen.
Kulak has struggled to switch sides, I don't see any value putting him on the the right side permanently.</div></div>
Fair enough. I traded Ceci, because of Kulaks 2nd year on his deal. I’m also not a fan of putting Kulak on his off side, but I also wouldn’t want Nurse, Ekholm, nor Broberg there either. Personally, I’m not a fan of Kulak.. I would rather keep Ceci over him. Due to the 2nd year, I think that will be the reason why he gets kept over Ceci, and he has been getting top 4 minutes here, so I am thinking that Holland, and Knoblauch may like him enough.

Sink or Swim
Personally, I’m not sold on Bertuzzi, nor putting Ekholm on his offside. Buying out Campbell, and trading Kulak, and Ceci should be a priority, in order to upgrade the offence, and defence. If this is our team coming next season, we are in a world of hurt imo.

Bold fix of the Nurse D problem
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Oilergirl1</b></div><div>I dunno why nobody likes the Carlsson trade. Same amount of goals in 55 games on a horrible ducks team in his first year in NHL compared to Mcleod in 81 games, plus salary dump of Mcleod's contract for younger player with similar skillset.</div></div>
Welcome to Cap Friendly!
So the Carlsson trade. McLeod was drafted in 2018, and is 24 years old right now, doing ok in the regular season, but terrible in the playoffs. Carlsson was picked in 2023 2OA by Anaheim , because they think he has good potential to become a top 6 forward in the NHL. Hes also just 19, so a lot younger than McLeod, and recorded 29 points in 55 games in his rookie season. His value is way higher than McLeods, and so much that the only guys that we could trade that would get us Carlsson are McDavid, and Draisaitl IF they went with an extension. You do not trade top 6 potential centers that was just drafted for a bottom 6 forward, when you are trying to get better and build your team through the draft, like Anaheim. I guarantee he will have a better season in every aspect, than McLeod will next year.
That's just my opinion on this trade. Have a great one! Take care!

Let play the younger
That Drury contract gets matched, and then they offer big contracts to one of McLeod, or Bouchard to retaliate. The oilers are not in the position to start making offersheets for players, when teams could come and steal our good guys from us.

You did not give anything for Moser... he also gets more than 2.75M. Kane would not waive for Utah either.

trading jeannot out
I would rather us go for a more impactful player for the bottom 6 instead of getting a 2.6M Jeannot. Doubt Tampa takes this anyway.. a pick would be more attractive than this package imo.

how much to get boqvist
I don’t see the hype with Boqvist from Oilers fans. Personally, I rather go for a bigger defender who is more defensively responsible to play with Nurse. If it is a smaller guy, I wouldn’t mind Alex Carrier, but in my opinion, he is better defensively than Boqvist too.

Big Game Hunting
Bjorkstrand you would be able to move, but I doubt you would be able to move Schwartz, or Burakovsky without paying a premium. Schwartz, Burakovsky, and Grubauer are the three guys you would have to pay to move imo.
Also, I doubt they sign a big UFA forward. If they trade a forward, I would imagine it would be to open a spot in the top 9 for a guy like Kartye, or Tolvanen.

Okay, thanks for your comment! I wasn’t too sure about that one, however, I thought with you getting Byram, maybe a 1st could get it done with you shedding 4M, while also using the pick to get some offensive depth.
Have a great one!

Exploring Darnell Nurse buyout
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JamieG613</b></div><div>Oilers wouldn't have the cap space to pay Nurse in dead cap, + $4.2M to his replacement, and also sign Drai/McDavid to long-term extensions. Yeah, this was more just a post to see a better team with certain oilers players playing terribly. I know this will absolutely not happen! This would be a team I would like to see though! Sadly, we will probably have to ride out that Nurse contract. Have a great one! Thanks for your comment!

Personally, I wouldn’t bet on that. To be fair though, I’ve never been a fan of Campbell, and knew it was a mistake as soon as we signed him to that deal. I would get rid of him this off-season.
For Nurse, a buyout is something we could try to eat, but I just thought of another thing, and that’s that he is Draisaitl, and McDavid’s best friend. I wonder if doing something like that would piss them off, and then therefore cause them to leave.
