Description
Staal trade can be any team, just the logic for the Bruins is in the additional details, but it could be anyone

Nikishin can't play until his KHL contract ends, so I've stuffed him on LTIR to show that he isn't available until the conclusion of that.

Why wouldn’t Boston just sign Lindholm? They seem to have a huge need for him, a tremendous opportunity to play next to Pasta, and the cap space to pay him

Why would he sign it in Vancouver, where everything costs the moon and stars with a MUCH higher tax rate, when he can come and work under a coach he openly wants to work under lmfao...

Oh no, three completely random websites don't list Raleigh?

Never said he wouldn't want to say in Vancouver, I'm saying that he'd take FAR less money home in Vancouver than he would somewhere like Carolina. Not to mention, Carolina's weather is better, east coast is way better schedule because of the shorter travel times, and he openly wants to work under Rod

vancouver can give an 8th year, so he would actually make 6.75 million more to stay in vancouver. and far less take home money? he'd miss out on about 350k usd each year in taxes. still gets paid USD so gets to take advantage of weak canadian dollar. assets he buys in vancouver such as a home or secondary property will retain higher value and can be higher revenue generators than assets in carolina.

so, more total money, minimal loss due to taxes, fx benefit, and wealthier city to invest in. major stretch to suggest he would rather play in carolina due to the money. maybe florida or texas where he can still take advantage of living in a wealthy city and pay even less taxes than in raleigh.

and the brindamour stuff is pure speculation. no reason to suggest he'd rather play for rod than tochett. no reason to suggest he would turn down an offer from the canucks on the chance he might get paid by carolina.

in fact, no guaruntee that brindamour is even a coach in carolina next year considering the offer has been pulled to re-sgin him.

this is a massive stretch

The 8th year is true, but he'd have to burn more of that money on stuff in Vancouver because it's so expensive. Not to mention, he's still under Canadian weather, he's still under western travel, and he's still in a situation that he struggled in SEVERELY this year. That hasn't gone well to this point.

As the Rod and Tocchet stuff, he actually said when Tocchet was coach in Arizona that the only other coach he actively wanted to play for was Rod, because of what Rod did for his development in Raleigh. So, yes, there is every reason to think he'd rather play for Rod than Tocchet, because he said so himself.

This isn't a stretch at all

look up the weather in vancouver lol. gets less snow every year than raleigh and has a higher median temperature throughout the year (cooler summers and warmer winters).

also, bold to say hes struggled when hes been one of vancouvers best players this playoffs. not sure where youre getting that from? he was injured for a bit so that was tough on him but now that hes healthy hes playing great.

glad to see were using a quoate from like 5 years ago to argue he wants to play under brindamour so badly that he would turn down a 8 year deal to do so.

only thing you really have here is the travel argument, but seems like pretty small potatos when deciding where to sign a long term extension

We can go the full 8 years with him and give him more money at the same cap hit, there's multiple ways for professional sports Athletes in Canada to pay less tax than the average Canadian. His contract would go further here as players are paid in USD which is worth Significantly more than CAD. Not to mention any money he would lose to taxes he would make up in endorsements deals here. Vancouver is also one of the best cities to live in the world much nicer than religh, Vancouver is also closer to home in Sweden. for Rod his contract is up this year and the canes are getting slapped around from the rangers. There is no Guarantee he is back next year.

How the hell is Vancouver closer to Sweden when Raleigh is literally on the east coast... by definition, he's closer to Europe on the coast closer to Europe...

Canes have just forced a game 6 at home... getting slapped around ain't true anymore bud. Lindholm hasn't worked in Vancouver from a production standpoint, and he openly wants to work under Rod. There's ways for him to get around taxes in Vancouver, but there are also ways to do that in Raleigh, where he'll get more for his money because everything is WAY cheaper. Raleigh is also a much nicer city than Vancouver during hockey season. Plus, he knows Raleigh, he was here for 5 years.

Canes could force game 7 they aren't going to win this series, rod has been there for a long time. It's been the same issues in the playoffs year after year at some point there's going to be changes. Outside of housing (which Vancouver players and staff get below market value deals on) Cost of living Is practically the same especially with the exchange rate, the money he would lose in taxes would be covered in a 8th year of the deal and Endorsement. Deals in Vancouver. Lindholms wife has abouslety loved it here. She has also stated on Instagram stories in the past that moving to the U.S would be more complicated than staying in Canada especially timing wise with her being due in the fall, Lindholm had a slow start in the regular season due to an injury and learning new systems. Production wise in the playoffs where it matters the most he's been Phenomenal. You have to be a pretty big Homer to think Raleigh Is a nicer city than Vancouver. This all should be a moot point anyway because KK is your 2nd line center of the future especially with his "ability" to "create scoring opportunities"
