Thread: Not my idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Of course Ottawa should trade for Zegras, just like they should trade for ANY forward or defenseman who improves the team. And it's indisputable by anyone with intelligence and acting in good faith that Zegras would be a positive addition even if you consider only his offensive talents. Whether the Senators can or want to spend the assets to do so is an entirely different question. Ottawa is a building team just like Anaheim -- it's unlikely that you can construct a trade between them that is equally beneficial. But when one responds to an ACGM, one does so with certain assumptions implied -- here, the Original Poster wants to acquire Zegras. Fair enough. The issue is, does the offered package constitute a fair deal for him? As you imply and several of my esteemed fellow Anaheim stalwarts will say explicitly, the answer is No.

In general, two building teams don't trade with each other, because the exchange almost always constitutes merely a lateral move.

And although it's not part of this discussion, whoever started the rumor that Brady Tkachuk is on the market, or perpetuates it, should be shot.

Or at least scorned.</div></div>

I'm sure the rumor that Ottawa is interested in Zegras is because we just signed Rob Dimaio. Now we must suffer (Mainly Ducks fans lol) for a week of Norris for Zegras, or Bostons 1st plus a 3rd liner in this case lol. I'd assume Anaheim would want Zub, Batherson, Pinto or the #7 pick realistically tho?
