<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tryger</b></div><div><strong>LA and Montreal don't really have trades that cover what the other team needs</strong>. LA is focused on competing while Kopitar is with the team, which means Danault must be on the team as either the 2C or 3C, as both PLD and Byfield have not yet proven to be as effective in their 200 foot game. Danault (who has a NMC) is unlikely to leave LA during his contract, he is playing for a much more defensive team which has allowed him to better show his offensive game, unsure he wants to move even if there was an opportunity, his family, his house, he's an LA guy now.</div></div>

MTL literally has assets (that they could realistically move) at almost every single position (apart from maybe Center) that LA would be interested in. Matheson being one of them for sure. I think I agree with you though that they would be difficult trade partners. I don't see MTL wanting to move Matheson for just future assets (they still need vets on the team), which is why Danault would be my target. But obviously with LAK trying to contend, moving Danault is kind of counter-intuitive.

As for Danault being a LA guy now, you might be right. But I don't think he'd say no to a return to MTL. This was a reply a wrote in the thread where I did my trade suggestion for Danault:
"I think Danault would have zero issues coming back to MTL. He wanted to stay initially. The main reason he left was due to Bergevin and the bridges he burned with not believing he was a top 6 C, refusing to budge on the contract negotiations (Bergevin truly sucked a contracts...). Kind of ironic that Bergevin is in the LA organization lol"

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>Barron has some value somewhere. Not in NJD.

NJD would still need to pick up an LD, and after that happens <strong>Barron would be placed on waivers</strong>.</div></div>

Not going to happen. If he's not moved this offseason, Kovacevic is likely gone and Barron will stick with the Habs.

If Hughes has proven anything since he's been GM, is he doesn't throw away assets. He ran with 3 goaltenders almost all year because he refused to waive Primeau. Barron is easily worth way more than Primeau, do you really think Hughes would waive him?! I don't think so.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Most Devils fans don’t want to trade Holtz. But since he has been in rumor mill, we are just reacting to what is being discussed.

Holtz played 4th line last year. For some reason, Lindy never liked him and never gave him a chance. In the few moments when he played top-6, he looked good, and we thought it was signs of things to come. But no, he would go right back to 4th line.

We have a new coach this year, so maybe it all changes. But anyone who has watched him play…or looked through his numbers would see a very promising player.</div></div>

Same could be said for Barron. He played primarily on the 3rd pair, but when he was paired with Matheson, he looked great. He also posted 7 goals in 48 games (very promising for a Dman). But due to the sheer quantity of Habs dmen, he never got a decent chance, and due to his waiver exemption, was sent down. If Harris or Kovacevic were waiver exempt, 100% Barron would have stuck around. But anyone who has watched him play…or looked through his numbers would see a very promising player.
