Prey on desperate teams
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kalopsia</b></div><div>Thinking you can flip your prospects for good picks after you've realized they'll never live up to expectations is a time-honored tradition amongst hockey fans. What I don't get is why fans of other teams seem to go along with it for these two. You've got an undersized, injury-prone winger who provides nothing outside the offensive zone and only produces when heavily sheltered, and an offensive defenseman who at 25 still hasn't topped 23 points in a season, doesn't really drive offensive even when sheltered. Both of them had their ice time cut in the playoffs. I don't get the interest in these two, I feel like it's all just leftover hype from when Leafs fans were really high on these guys.</div></div>
So what you are saying is you think Lapierre is worth less than a 2nd? Roberson had a better season than him. I guess he will never "never live up to expectations" huh? its almost like some players develop slower? huh? Liljegren has solid defensive numbers also. you sound like a person who hasnt watch either play. Both are risk / reward but name the last 2nd round pick Capitals drafted that has amounted to anything on their current roster? MF?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kalopsia</b></div><div>Why are we dumping Milano in order to replace him with Roberston on the second line? I don't understand why he's valued so highly on this site. What exactly does he provide that Milano doesn't, besides being related to Jason Robertson? He seems like the classic example of a guy who's got the skill to tear up the AHL, but he's not skilled enough to play a top 6 role and too small and fragile to play a bottom 6 role.
Also, the Caps have already used all three of their retention slots, and the retention on Edmundson and Mantha doesn't technically end until July 1st... that is, after the 2024 draft. Any Caps trade featuring retention can't include 2024 draft picks.</div></div>
Robertson can score and is really high end. Give a great effort consistently . i have a lot of faith in the HC that hes able to get the most out of all his players. Roberson given the right situation should score 25-30 goals a year

Not against doing 2 2nd round picks but neither have shown enough to demand that much BUT both still have great upside thats where im at with them. not the end of the world doing 2 2nd

Why would Nashville retain / add? Leafs have killed a lot of his positive value by trashing him or media /fans and he also has a NMC. Nash could sign Guentzel or Reinhart for less and still have their assets

i think you can get Washingtons 2nd back and just get TVR for moving up 10+ spots in the 2nd round
SENS should 1000000% be looking to draft Nabokov. 21 years old was fantastic in the KHL. Lindgren short term solution. Nabokov franchise goalie

PLD @ 8.5m is horrible esp for the next 7 years. "you can play him on the 4th line when he's bad" yeah im good. DK had one bad year. PLD has had a few down years and has been bounced from team to team trying to find a way for him to work. Ill pass and see if i can sign him when they buy him out

What do you mean 5-10 people know about him? He is ranked the second best goaltender in class.....
I wouldn't be surprised if he is taken in the second round. He is a legit all-star goalie in his first season in the KHL.</div></div>
Almost every scout / mock draft list doesnt even have him in the top 75 some not even in the top 100

He is having a good playoffs but he had a slight better than average regular season.
3rd round will have some good players, I see Nabokov going in the second personally. The talent is too high to leave him on the board that far into the draft.
Ovi is getting old yes, but he did not look bad during the regular season. Maybe he has lost a step but he is still playing hard. We do not have a good enough LW ready to take his spot on the top line and he will stay there because the organization owes him everything</div></div>
Philips isnt fast and plays a more skilled / soft game.
Literally 5-10 people know hes even draft available this year. Teams likely dont touch him till 3rd/4th rounf due to the talent in the 2nd round alone.
Ovechkin played 30-40 good games this year? thats pretty horrible.

Trineyev is far from NHL ready if he will ever be.
Why do we have so many damn thirds. Move some picks to get higher draft selections.
Frank is not a winger and he is barely nhl ready.
Robertson is not taking Ovi's spot much less having Ovi on third line.
This is a dumpster fire of a roster</div></div>
"Trineyev is far from NHL ready if he will ever be." + "Frank is not a winger and he is barely nhl ready"
You lost almost all your credibility on these 2 statement alone... why? bc you 100% havent watch a single bears game this season or in the playoffs
Frank is lighting it up in the playoffs and had 29 goals in 64gp. One of the fastest players in the AHL. "not NHL ready" based off what? honestly asking.... adds speed and skill to Ovi line which he desperately needs bc hes slow.
3rd round has a ton of talent if you scouted this draft enough. assuming you havent... Nabokov Zetterburg are 2 suppose to go early 3rd.
Ovechkin is 39!!!! yes!!! 39 years old. LOOK AT THIS YEARS PLAYOFFS... if hes on your top line thats a true "dumpster fire of a roster"
