My comment was merely stating Timmins would need to be dealt for Holl (from Detroit's perspective) to make it worth while. I am not taking into consideration Toronto's perspective. Reason being is that Detroit's perspective is unaccounted for in this GM.
Seider, Walman, Edvinsson, Chiarot, Maata, Johansson, Petry/Holl.
I can see a world in which Ghost comes back. Adding Timmins means adding his cap to be fighting with at least 3 defensemen for #6 (possibly 4 if the Wings target Roy/UFA/Ghost). There is no reason for Detroit to consider this.
(In regards to value, you are correct, Holl has negative. Luckily, a buyout would be less expensive)

Feel free to build a team for Detroit starting with this trade. Seider and Razor will consume half of the allotted cap if term is maxed. The RFAs should be easy signs (Berggren aside), the UFAs (exception of Ghost if rumors are smoke), are most likely gone, although Fish would be nice.
Need to upgrade to the back end, replacie top 6 production. Goodrow would be too expensive for his role with Detroit, and would hinder significant upgrades.

Not after re-signing their RFAs, and figuring out what to do with Ghost, DP, Fish, and Kane.

Minnesota isn't giving up their #1 center on a steal of a contract, let alone for that return which doesn't help them.

Veleno for a third. I hope Burgers gets a shot, but if not he is probably moved in a package for a need (top 6 W / middle pair RHD).

Detroit doesn't want/need Timmins (which is who I meant by Timmy, not Lily). They have too many stop gap D as it is currently, so unless TOR would like to take one of Holl/Petry back, there is no fit for roster size/cap space/etc.

And you’d be incorrect. Last year the motto was “out depth” opponents. That was what allowed the Wings to be in the hunt. They need gamebreakers and more solidified D.

Regular Yzerplan should suffice if this is the AIzerplan’s route. Better be careful, or it will be Detroit knocking Toronto out of the first round before too long.
Edit- or did you mean the AIzerplan will lead to Toronto play off wins? lol hard to determine

MN DET
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kapesk</b></div><div>Det:
With an Aging Goalie and Defensive core Detroit needs to get its team more in line with where it wants to be. Luckily for them Minnesota is flush with young players, some of which they are looking to move now or could be swayed into doing.
Minnesota:
They are desperately looking for another player (preferably young) that can challenge for a top line spot or at least be a main stay in the top six as a consistent contributor.
Why it works:
1. Detroit gets an NHL ready Defensemen that is young, a goalie who is 5 yrs younger than their youngest goalie and who is ready to prove he is a starter.
2. Detroit gets a 2C to add additional depth to the most desired position in hockey
3. Minnesota gets a Top 6 player that can challenge to play on the first line with Kaprizov, and he is still young, while also opening up other positions for up and coming players needing a roster spot.
Basically Minnesota's bursting talent pool of young players is causing them to push out players they may want to keep if possible, but unfortunately you only get so many roster spots. So one team's problem is another teams payday. 3 young players and a vet at a bargain cap hit for 1 young player and a 4th round pick 2yrs down the road which has low odds to become a NHL player outside the Bottom 6. Not a bad deal when your team needs a larger retooling than just one position.</div></div>
Detroit: stockpiled with young D talent, two good goalie prospects, and 2 centers in Danielson and Kasper.
Also Detroit: for having such a deep prospect pool, one strong deficiency… best wing prospects: Berggren, Mazur, Soderblom, Buchelnikov.
Can’t afford to move Raymond, unless it’s for an upgrade. Unless you’d like a possible move for JEE?

Wings maybe overpay but get the 2LW they need
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lottsie10</b></div><div>See I'm the same. Why I put Kasper in here is because Carolina is in WIN NOW mode. The wings don't have a ton of pieces that help Carolina do that, so they have to overpay in the futures department, and I think that perfect blend of future/win now is Kasper for Carolina.
I'm with you on the 1-2-3 punch, I love the idea of it for sure, but I don't love the idea of 2LW Michael Rasmussen for the forseeable future. So I'm willing to give up that left side next year, which I still think can be fine as:
Chiarot
Edvinsson
Johanson
I think it will work out fine because with Edvinsson solidly in the lineup now, Seider and his partner won't have to tank the toughest minutes in the NHL, and Seider will be able to shelter some of Chiarots flaws making them a decent pairing. I think we saw that towards the end of this past season. Plus I think Wallinder/Buium will be ready for the 25/26 season. I think in this scenario we'll need to sign a guy like Roy to help on the right side.</div></div>
One of those three hits, and Detroit should be solid on the back end for several years.
Wallinder-Seider
Edvinsson-ASP
Johansson/Buium - Roy
Cleveland - Gibson/Ant/Tuo
If this is a rough outline of the D corps in 2025 or 2026, I’m a happy fan.

Well done! Yeah I think most people would assume with Detroit getting these two it would have been in the order you had them lol. I just couldn’t justify ASP at 9 when goals were needed (and then SY decided to go FA shopping and brought in Cat and now goals are plentiful and the D was bad).
Much happier now after seeing that ASP isn’t just one dimensional, and Danielson looks like a legit pick.
Still would want Leonard at 9 first if he was available, but it’s too early to tell on Barlow and Wood vs Danielson (although yes much happier about ND at 9 as a 200ft C).

Don’t love it, but don’t hate it. Definitely improved the future for the weakest area in Detroit’s prospect pool, but at the cost of Kasper could potentially sting. Larkin-Kasper-Danielson seems like it will be a very solid 1-2-3 punch for the Boston style (200ft C).
It also means the LHD will need to be accelerated with Wallinder/Johansson/Buium needing to take a spot sooner, otherwise a left side of Edvinsson/Chiarot/Maata is going to be tough to win with.
