Nuke For Laine
Nuke focked the avs 3 times. It's gonna be such a disconnect in the locker room with him in it.
Say what you want. But 3 million in dead money is better then 6 million.
Some of the players don't him back. After the Seattle incident they gave him another chance and then he ended up in SAP again and now he focked the avs in playoffs again.
You obviously haven't played a team sport and it shows. No one wants toxic and disconnect in the locker room.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MeetYourMakar</b></div><div>LoC is due for a raise, yes. But the Avs showed how hard it is to replace LoC and he would be better served as an in house rental.
Wood trade away if there is a taker, throw in Colton too.
The trade for Rants and Brady/Batherson equals zero cap help and a decrease in talent. I don't know if the pick swap evens it out.
Hamonic and other scrubs don't need to be in here from the Avs pov. I wouldnt consider any of them genuine depth options. JBD would have to pass through waivers and I'd rather run Malinski on his strong side.
You are just trying to make routine issues seem like do or die for the Avs cup future.
No excuse for buying out Nuch, you trade him or support him. Take a look at the long term cap hit.
Avs stars have produced in all aspects during the playoffs, Leafs turned to fertilizer. I would much rather pay 3 elite playoff performers than 4 no shows.</div></div>
Malinski is gonna be full time starter. Hamonic only has 1 year left and need another physical dmen. JBD is a serviceable 7th dmen like jones was.
You trade rantenen and your able to get tkachuk and batherson for the equal of rantenen extension hit. Moose is gonna want around 11.
Plus you get extra draft capital. You get a power forward who isn't afraid to drop the gloves and a sniper batherson with Mittlestadt as playmaker.
You keep rantenen then who's gonna be in top 6?
Landeskog isn't even top 6 material RIGHT NOW.
The buyout for nuke is 12 years spread out
It's only 1.5 in dead money. That's nothing

They stuck by Naz, they stuck by G, they stuck by George; they could very well stick by Val. At the very least, they could trade him to a place where he has a real chance to continue, like they've done with so many former Avs.</div></div>
Lol trying to compare nuke to all those players are comical
Georgiev and kadri never went to the SAP. Girard went once and you never hear about him
Nuke already messed up 3 times. Twice in playoffs forking the avs

Nuke For Laine
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>"Easily" is quite the overstatement. The first few years wouldn't be bad but they'd have big dead hits for four years after that that they really can't afford. I'd say there is .00000001% chance they buy him out; like it or not, they're a better team when he plays and since the window is now, they'll roll the dice and keep him around.</div></div>
Avs save like 180 in cap this season
Next season they have 1 mil in dead money
3 seasons they incur dead cap between 3-5
Then they only occur 1.5 dead money until 12 years in done.
No point of keeping a toxic player in the locker room hence why they got rid of duchene

Avs could easily buyout nuke. His cap would spread out for 12 years. They need the cap.

Let me explain it this way LOC is on need for a raise. Wood is a cap dump. Sens avs swap 1st.
Rantenen is due for an extension no doubt he is elite. But you are delusional if you don't think this team is in shambles with landeskog bum knee coming back and toxic nuke staying.
With landy cap on the books they need cap space to resign key free agents.
With the sens trade they get deep in top 6 and there defense gets more depth.
Say what you want but avs gonna be leafs 2.0 tying up all there money

I’d rather roll with Georgiev than Kochetkov as a starter, and hopefully Annunen can lessen Georgie’s workload. Additionally, we shouldn’t be getting Necas while Landeskog may potentially come back and with Rantanen still needing an extension next year, though I think you intended for Necas to be his replacement.</div></div>
Annunen in my opinion has proved he can be a good backup and deserves more reps.
I wouldn't mind kochetkov but then you got 2 potential starts. However I watch alot of cane games and kochetkov is starter material in my opinion of course.

No trade partner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>I don’t think they have any intention of bringing back. The press conference at least CMC part was entirely legalese of what he could say. They can’t trade him while suspended, and they can’t terminate his contract while suspended. People are to focused on one sentence “but it is very plausible he will be back with the Avs” and ignore everything else “the obvious question is termination right? At this time that’s not an option” and “assuming he does (get clean and help) and after 6 months we will react on that” and talking about getting the call from the league and how it affected 25 other guys. Behind the scenes I think the conversation is that they are preparing legally to terminate his contract preparing documentation about the incident in the Seattle Hotel, the multiple positive tests, the stupid IG posts, and anything that didn’t make the news. There just is no way unless they lose a termination legal battle (doubtful) or are unable to move his contract he comes back.</div></div>
What happen with the IG post?
I thought the buyout window is only during the summer.

Hell yeah brother. Let's watch nuke disappear again in the playoffs. That's what I'm talking about. Ehlers does perform in the playoffs.
I would say get jake debrusk and only way to get him is to sign him but you can't until you get nukes cap off the books.
But sure let's just keep a distraction on the team. Nuke was fine but once he signed an extension he went downhill.
Funny girard cleaned up his act. Im a laugh when he messes up again and the fans and organization look like dummies for keeping him.

Best course of action is have nuke on LTIR. Then stuff him in the minors and hopeful someone picks him up on waivers. If not keep him in minors. Granted they only save 1 million it's better then nothing. Just wait until a trade partner comes around
