Top 10 with two trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Schneider in 2013 is probably more similar to Swayman 2024. Both tandem goalies emerging as #1. Both top-5 numbers. Expectations that Luongo/Ullmark would be moved.</div></div>
That's what I think. But.... I don't see Swayman being available, especially because the Luongo contract at the time was awful, where teams need goalies this summer and Ullmark is the current ( 2024 winner not announced as of yet ) Vezina winner. The only way Markstrom and the 10th overall pick would be involved in a trade would be a bigger trade.

I think if NJ trades the 10th overall for a goalie it would be for someone younger. Think 2013 when NJ traded the 9th overall for a 27 year old Cory Schneider. So if NJ did that, I think it would be for Saros, not Markstrom.

Good mock. One player I have in my top 10 that some people might disagree with is Yakemchuk in the top 10, Buium not in the top 10.

Explaining 2024 EARLY June MOCK
I just don’t see NJ drafting a defenseman with the 10th overall pick. They’re either going to draft a forward, or trade it for a goaltender. If and only if, Sam Dickinson was available at 10, he’s the only defenseman I’d draft there.

Yes and no for Parekh. We don’t need him because we’ve got guys like Hamilton, L.Hughes, Nemec and newly signed Casey who all can carry an offense. I feel for this draft NJ needs to come out with a forward.

Gotta agree with you. I think with Parehk's upside he should go before Buium.

Pretty easy, Zeev Buium if he's still there. I think out of all the other players available besides maybe Connelly and Helenius, Buium is the best player available.

Community mock 10th OA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>I am not anti-laser! I am pro-laser, pro-Eiserman!
Just saying the risk around Connelly has been quelled a bit as reputable people have vouched for him (Nate Leaman, USA Hockey, etc). And reports from NHL teams is that they have walked away with positive impressions (which is a long way from from Scott Wheeler claimed a majority of NHL teams have him on “do not draft” lists, despite later admitting no scout or GM ever told him he was DND). It’s a little silly when people compare him to Mitchell Miller, when there really isn’t any comparison (Unlike Miller, Connelly took responsibility, accepted accountability, talks about his mistakes openly and maturely).
On the ice, he probably ends up looking a bit like a cross between Jack Hughes and Clayton Keller…with smidge of Zergras flair. The skill, skating is undeniable. Completely justifiable with 10th overall pick.</div></div>
So in your opinion, with scouts and coaching coming out saying some positives on this kid, do you think he goes top 10? For me personally, if Sam Dickinson is available at 10, that's who I want NJ to take. If he's not, I want NJ to take Eiserman.

But isn't he also another playmaker? Eiserman just fires lasers and we've got guys like Hughes, Bratt, Palat and Nico ( to a degree ) who pass first.

Isn’t he also on the smaller side? We’ve got enough small skilled guys. At least Eiserman has some size.

I agree. I think if NJ has to choose between Eiserman and Buium they'll go with Eiserman. Buium is more of an offensive defenseman and with Hamilton, L.Hughes and Nemec on the backend that can play top PP, Buium unfortunately won't get any time.

I've seen some mocks where San Jose gets both Celebrini ( obviously ) and Eiserman. If Eiserman can hit his potential and you guys get him, good lord what a great start to a rebuild with Celebrini, Eiserman, Smith, Eklund and Musty.
