<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Bold take at #1.
Trevor Connelly does not play for US NDTP. He plays for Tri-City (the USHL one).
Levshunov is everything but not flashy. He is built for the limelight.
Greentree laid an egg at U18s. Combined with his star performance at prospects game, it reaffirmed the notion that he plays to score, not to win. (Stars game=no system, no coaching, recess rules; u18=lots of role playing, structure).
Good list. I like the bold takes…especially on all the ‘littles’</div></div>
Yeah thank you for the correction on Connelly... their U18 was a lot of their development program, so confusion occurred there.
U18s and other international tournaments is a mixed bag... a person can boost their stock at these tournaments, but they should be used as a reason to lower their stock unless a pattern is emerging. If I'm a coach and I assemble lines that win, well you could be a really good player stuck on the third or fourth line just because I'm having success leaning on other very good players.
Nate MacKinnon, for example, didn't show that well at the world juniors when he went... didn't mean he sucked.

Hard no from Detroit... I don't trade my first liners for a project and a starting goaltender too oft injured... especially when what Lekkerimaki brings to team is what you're already getting in Debrincat

Boston would have to butter him up, or his agent. LA makes the most sense for him.

LA would not give up Brandt Clarke for a goalie, nor do Boston need him (although they'd take him in a heartbeat to flip for another wicked prospect)

It's Ottawa that has to give up more, here, as per Weegar is right shot and Chychrun is left shot, hence Weegar has commodity value

Tor - Pit Golden boy brings his boy to steeltown
Penguins win this trade... Dubas would be stoked if he could do this.
Yes, Toronto needs a right shot power play quarterback, but EK's age is a real problem.
When I play EA franchise mode, I sucker teams for high picks by giving them my aging stars. That's what this trade feels like... Dubas extends Marner, they get a star right winger, who's younger, and they don't lose a whole lot on defense since Pittsburgh's power play wasn't as good as it should have been this year.

Col - Bos Avs get their goalie at a price
Boston needs a top6 center that can powerplay. If Ullmark is their biggest trade piece, they're going to have to use him to get the commodity they're most looking for.

Sea - Ott Blockbuster at the draft
Crypes I would be tempted if I was Ottawa.
Chabot takes them out of that contract which isn't really working out for them, get a high pick that's getting a good talented player, and your team probably gets better, at least the regular season version of it (I think Tkachuk is going to be a playoff player).
Ultimately, they'd probably say no to this because they're going to look at all possible "anyone but Brady" options, but it's tempting.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Buium won’t make it to #11…he would be the pick here.</div></div>
Reality is that "x player shouldn't have fallen this far"... there's two of those going to go around 11-13 range, and that's not accounting for if a team at 7OA really goes off the board or whatever, like someone does almost every year.

Not really what the Islanders need.
He turned two of his first round picks into a 1D (Dobson) and a 2-3D (Romanov)... and neither were top 10 picks. I'd say that's a really good use of them. Wahlstrom not so much.

Gee Van says no. If KK can't even do well under Brind-Amour, he's basically a lost cause that's headed for a buyout if things don't get better next year.

Hear Me Out
This is three first round picks for a goalie, and that 10th OA has substantial value this year.
I just think Devils fans need a reality check on goaltenders. They aren't USBs that you plug and get the same stats out of just because they perform well in their other situations. Vanecek wasn't "the" problem this year, and trading for Saros, his numbers would be better because he is elite, he would not have saved this franchise this year. They would have gotten crushed in the playoffs even if they had Saros.

Boston needs a center, a skilled one... and I'm guessing if they move a goalie, it's going to be for a top 6 center who's good on the power play

Think Big
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Anderson is a righty Miles Wood. No more, no less. Big, fast, goes in straight lines. He is where possession goes to die.
Devils could have interest in Anderson at $2.75m for fourth line…but there little chance he is playing with Hughes or Hischier. Especially when both Bratt and Meier prefer the right side….and Mercer has gotten comfortable there too.
Further, it’s just hard to stomach Anderson-to-NJ trades after all the nonsense from a couple of years ago (completely fabricated story from Tony Marinaro…that was later beat down as Devils never spoke to MTL about Anderson, as LeBrun and others have corrected).</div></div>
As it stands, our best player is getting rocked every year, head hunted, challenged at the blue line. He can't carry it through the blue line all year because he never lasts 82 games, regardless of the circumstances of his injuries (he plays dangerously... if one hasn't happened, it's bound to happen). Anderson gets it deep. I don't care whether or not the Devils get Anderson, but they need to get a winger that takes the load off of Hughes to break the zone. Anderson, it just so happens, is big, mean, and skates like the wind. Playing with Hughes, he'd probably be a 50-60 pt player because all Hughes needs him to do is park out front and dig in the corners while he half-walls.
Anderson is an option, but this MUST be addressed in the offseason... we need Hughes for a full season, we need him protected.
