Trade based on Zegras Rumours
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HighlightrEhlers</b></div><div>This feels like Ottawa is giving up too much no? I thought Norris on his own would be almost enough to buy Zegras. Maybe Norris and a 4th round pick.</div></div>
I agree this is an overpay considering Zegras' injury history isn't necessarily that much better than Norris', but I feel like Norris' cap hit makes Zegras more valuable. I like Norris and a late pick for him

Trade based on Zegras Rumours
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>verducian</b></div><div>Why in the world would Anaheim make this trade?</div></div>
Norris (when healthy) is a fantastic player with high goalscoring upside and Joseph plays a 200ft game and is a speedy winger that is a great 3rd liner, just lacks a little consistency

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jwills2001</b></div><div>So if a deal were to happen what's price for BT? If he does want out there is a sure loss in value. This trade is completely hypothetical, I understand that he hasn't expressed any desire to leave Ottawa.</div></div>
I have no clue why there's so many rumors saying he wants out when the other "sources" are twitter fan pages. Staios said he isn't moving him but I'd have to imagine the asking price would be pretty steep. Tkachuk's 6'4, captain material, built for playoff hockey, 35 goal scorer and plays the game the way not many do. I think it would be something around Nemec, 10th a couple later picks in the next couple drafts and a guy like Palat for money reasons. I think every team would be in on Brady if he was made available but I dont think it makes sense to move him at this point in time

Wheel of Retool Part 1
Even in a sign and trade I think OTT declines. Chychrun's value seems relatively good right now and can probably fetch us a 1st and player and to me thats more tempting than trading for a guy that we can sign for free if we wait a couple weeks

Draft Predictions
Unless Celebrini, Demidov or Lindstrom are there at 7, which is pretty much impossible, Sens go D imo. Yakemchuk is my personal favorite favorite, but in this mock I think theyd go Dickinson. Iginla to Ottawa wouldn't be terrible but feels like a Dorion pick to me and I feel like this new management team really values size. I think they go either Dickinson Silayev or Yakemchuk at the draft but who knows the draft is always full of suprises. Also love Letourneau to OTT at 25

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jminn</b></div><div>Good deal IMO for both teams. Tkachuk is frustrated and wants out of Ottawa. He brings size and toughness And could be on the top line with Kaprizov and Zucci.
Boldy is younger and is a very good get for the Sens.
I have the teams flipping #1s. Maybe the Wild throw in a late round pick.</div></div>
1, Brady isn't going anywhere and hasn't publicly expressed any desire to leave the team other than made up reddit/twitter thats only source is "trust me bro"
2. Staios said he isn't available
3. Why on earth would we have to trade down on top of that

3 way win for all
CAR moves Necas and gets a solid top 4 D that costs under 5mil which is great value
SJS aquires a top 6/top line winger to play with Celebrini and Smith. Adds an exciting young forward to the team
OTT moves Chychrun and adds a top 15 pick. Also creates more cap space to resign Pinto and a RHD in FA

Price Check
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>emoprettyboy</b></div><div>zub is pretty unequivocally not available, chychrun definitely is though. the general price is like, around a 1st and a 2nd, maybe a bit more.
also just as an outsider for the other team, I’ve seen people offering up all of Perbix, Jensen, and TVR for 3rds</div></div>
I feel like Zub should definitely not be moved, but if a deal happens after free agent frenzy and we already signed a couple decent guys and the offers are decent enough I would entertain them

Playoff Sens
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sens65</b></div><div>If we're giving up Chychrun with 50% retention we should be getting Lindgren back at least.</div></div>
My gut tells me that goaltending wasn't our biggest issue last year. At times is was painful to watch, but I think theres a reason goalies do so much better when they leave Ottawa and it's because our defense god awful and soft. If they bring up Kleven, get TVR and sign Myers our defense immediately becomes bigger tougher and harder to play against. I'm almost 100% positive our goaltending situation improves if our defense toughens up and gets bigger. Id also much rather add assets with a Chychrun trade, let Kleven get more games in and sign a guy short term than buyout or give up assets to get rid of Korpi and then have to give up more assets to get a guy like Saros, Markstrom or Ullmark and the situation stays the same.

For me its mostly that Kaliyev played under Staois and Andlauer in Hamilton. Adds a little bit of size and speed to the bottom 6

My Crack at it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caufield</b></div><div>putting aside injuries, he would be a top 3 lock. Obviously injuries occurred, but it is highly unlikely he drops farther than 5 (MTL clearly takes him over Catton). Maybe, maybe 7 if MTL decides to take Iginla over Lindstrom</div></div>
I think MTL is in a tough spot unless Demidov falls to 5 which seems highly unlikely. I think they go Iginla, but i'd have a tough time picking Lindstrom over Catton since Catton had similar a similar goal pace and a higher assist rate than Lindstrom. Adding the injury concerns, I think Gorton and Hughes stay away from him in the top 5. His ceiling is insanely high but the risk might not be worth it with Iginla or Catton there
