Couple reasons it won't happen.
A) See above.
B)His personality he thrives in that 💩

I semi get what you're saying but he does that sooo well , there isn't a coach who wouldn't play him in those situations regularly.

Who cares his "offensive production" seems underwhelming. He has a 42% d-zone start plays against Mathews,Barkov, Crosby,Stutzle,McDavid etc every night.

LIGHTNING 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jfstompers</b></div><div>I don't think we'll have the money to adequately upgrade the d is my only thought. Perbix is a safe guy,he won't cost much and may still have some growth in him. Log jam makes it sound like there are a lot of guys competing for ice time but I just see bad defenseman we should replace.</div></div>
We have about 12M after Raymond and Seider, which isn't much. Could make a swing at a defenseman with that money but the forward group might suffer a bit. If we move money out and our use a buyout that changes as well.
You assessment about the logjam is probably more accurate than mine lol.
I do agree he could be a nice piece of we don't sign a top 4.

Yeah PP2 is kinda rough with this squad. It would kind of address the issue of center depth without Larkin, but I was thinking about the following years as well. They'd hopefully bridge the gap for Danielson and Kasper move them down the depth chart.
I mean 2 or 3 seasons from now Copp - Jenner - Compher sounds like a pretty elite 3rd line.

Pionk just seemed like an easy target and a nice little stop gap with only one year remaining. Plus he just seems like a solid 2nd pair guy which would be great for edvinsson to play with.

Keep It Simple
This means losing Bussi to waivers and failing to add scoring punch may just put us back to where the B's are this year (done in the 2nd round)? I think they could do much better on depth defensemen than bringing back the Forbert/Shatty duo. But there is something to be said for staying cap flexible next year when some more impact 1C's are scheduled to be FA's.

Quite a few Habs fans severely over value Matheson. There was a thread a couple of weeks ago where some Habs fans felt Matheson for Necas was a fair trade.

Why not? If it Lands them a true top 6 guy they absolutely should. Kasper is looking like a 40 point guy/ good 3 lime center.

Necas had the same amount of points in the playoffs as Guentzel despite playing 2 and a half minutes less per game. Do they keep Necas and let Guentzel walk?

Plus there was more pressure on Ottawa to move DeBrincat. He said he wouldn't be resigning with Ottawa at the end of the season.

Take out the 2nd and probably. Matheson is a 60 point dman as much as AA is a 30 goal scorer. Matheson is a 30 point dman and at 30 he might not even get back to 30 points.

I'm really not trying to feed the "it's possible to trade Tavares BEAST" but I was thinking that a 3rd team would probably take 50% retention for $5.5 MIL of a Cap Hit but only $0.455 in salary for a 4th or 5th Detroit pick. Easy way for a rebuilding team to add a draft pick and extremely cheap for the pocket book.
Detroit gets an elite faceoff man who will probably score 30 goals and the Leafs get some depth pieces and $11 MIL of Cap Space back. Oh no! I am feeding the "trade BEAST"

Offensively yes but Compher is better defensively.
His production is far too inconsistent to justify trading Mazur.
