Det - Car Necas to motor city
I'm beginning to think Necas might not be worth it. He wants to be a center and he wants to be on the 1st line and on the 1st pp unit.

Detroit passes. Colman is a good player he isn't a player they need and it's going to be a really long season with Holl in your top pair.
Since you have traded away most of your high end talent do you really think Necas signs long term in Calgary?

It can be close, but Detroit still declines. It's taken a couple of years to find a 2C that fits and there are other options to get an RHD. They won't be as good as Trouba but they will be less expensive. Plus, I'm not a fan of Kakko personally I'd rather have Berggren instead.

The Goodrow Trade
The Rangers have no 2nd round picks in 24', 25' or 26.' The Rangers have no 3rd round picks in 24' and 25'. That said, I'm sure they can't wait to trade two 5th rounders for a 7th rounder.
Chytil/Kakko trades.
Same issue with draft picks.
Conclusion: Someone spiked the punch. Or, for those of us of a certain vintage, it reminds me of the MC at Woodstock after the Sha Na Na set; "Harold............" For the younger folks I am sure you can find this moment on Youtube.</div></div>
How about switching Petry to Fabbri? By taking Fabbri there wouldn't be a need to retain any salary on Trouba and I wouldn't be opposed to NYR keeping their 6th as well.

If this is a draft day trade, LA no longer has Roy's rights because he's been a UFA for about a month.

As a Detroit fan I'd rather keep Berggren but I've never been a big fan of Garland. I do agree that Vancouver should keep Garland.

The only one possible Marners trade

But Detroit doesn't need 3C, when they have Larkin, Compher, Copp and Veleno down the middle. Plus, they have Rasmussen and with Kasper and Danielson being really close. So, Detroit has absolutely no need for Eller even at a more realistic price.

A 2nd round pick for a 35 year old center who has never had a 20 goal season.

He's a 30 point LHD who had a 60 point season and you're right there is no chance Detroit even considers this.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kerism</b></div><div>I disagree. The Wings would basically be paying $2.375M to massively upgrade the right side of their defense. Is Trouba overpaid by a couple million? Absolutely. But so is Copp. A reliable 2nd pair right-handed defenseman is exactly what this team needs, and Trouba is that. We can easily replace Copp as the 3C. Not to mention the one less year on that contract should be a huge appeal to the Red Wings.
Edvinsson - Seider
Walman - Trouba
would be a huge upgrade over what we've seen in previous seasons.</div></div>
I'm not sure the Wings do this but I doubt NYR moves Trouba.

Offseason ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mv21227</b></div><div>Copp has gotten Selke votes 1 time, finishing 24th in 21/22
Matthews was 3rd in Selke voting and played less than a minute per game on the PK. JT Miller, Suzuki, Hischier, and Hintz all finished top 20 in Selke voting with minimal PK time
Matthews, Hischier, and Suzuki specifically are known as good defensive players, but because they don’t play the PK do you not think they are?</div></div>
You're right it was once but on hockey reference they put it next to both teams and his totals for that season. You right you can be nominated with minimal PK time. Over the last 2 seasons players that finished in the top 10 in Selke voting win the exception of Matthews 2 seasons ago averaged at least 1:30 of PK time a game and were one of the top forwards in PK time on their team. The season Matthews finished in the top 10 he had a ridiculous 92 takeaways. So PK time doesn't matter to get nominated for a Selke but it does play a part to win it. Unless you have a ridiculous amount of takeaways like Matthews, McDavid and Draisaitl
