Here's my thought on this Marner trade. The Kings didn't want to give up Clarke to get Dubois, which made sense, they probably still don't want to give up Clarke and that is still probably the hurdle that would stop that trade but in this version, they get rid of Dubois and then they can negotiate an extension with Marner who both gives them an offensive element they don't have AND still fits with their other 2-way forwards. Liljegren gives them a different right D with some upside but its Marner for Dubois and Clarke. Do the Leafs want Dubois? I mean..... no? Maybe? If the idea is changing the fit, then Dubois gives them a big giant 2-way center vs an undersized winger.

I don't know if I'm giving up enough on Saros. I'm finding it tough to zero in on what a Saros trade would be. My initial gut was that the Preds would demand Knies but then I would assume it would be underwhelming but then is this too underwhelming? I'm not sure.

I ended up having more cap space than I thought at the end so I threw Toffoli in there but I'm not sure that's the right move or even possible.
