I hope he doesn't because when Calgary's pick comes around if Iginla isn't still available Yakemchuck is the guy I'd want them to pick. If Iginla is still there too then it'd be a tough choice for me between the two of them.

Iginla is going to Calgary

1. Macklin Celebrini LHC SJ
2. Artyom Levshunov RD ANA
3. Ivan Demidov LHRW CHI
4. Sam Dickinson LHD Columbus
5. Cayden Lindstrom LHC MON
6. Carter Yakemchuk RD OTT
7. Zayne Parekh RD AZ
8. Berkly Catton LHC SEA
9. Anton Silayev LD
10. Cole Eiserman LW
11. Zeev Buium LD
12. Tij Iginla LW Calgary
13. Konsta Helenius RHC
14. Michael Brandsegg-Nygård RW

I'm not arguing that, like I said above I think they should take Paraekh at #7 but I think Dickinson will be BPA. Catton is high risk high reward

I’d very, very happily take Parekh at 7 if he’s there. but that’s just because he’d be BPA, imo. not because of his position

just in my personal opinion for who I’d want for an NHL team, I’d take Iginla over Yakemchuk and it’s not particularly close

I would bet money Ignila is gone before 12th. Certainly in the top 10.

I think most pundits are going to be very surprised at how soon both players go. Most have Yakemchuk ranked a lot lower than on the list above. Fact is the best GMs know intangibles like size, grit, physical play and yes even hockey pedigree (Tij being Jarome's son) are important too it isn't just about who scored the most points or who those same pundits have deemed to be the "most skilled" or BPA in junior.
