Even for Leon, that's an overpayment for one year.

I'm sure the assumption is that it's done with an extension agreed upon first.

Personally I'd keep Leon. However in the unlikely event he refuses to re-sign, this is a good return.

I'm pretty sure Edmonton would prefer more in the way of current players than futures though, unless they were actually planning on doing a ground-up restoration (I.e. trading McDavid too). So something along the lines of Cozens + Power instead of Savoie and 2 high picks.

If you can clear that much cap space, I would think spending for Guentzel instead of Bertuzzi & Bennett would provide much better results.
