Ana has Zegras, Carlsson, Gauthier, Mctavish at center, so I feel one could be moved.

Leafs get McTavish with the hope he develops into a top 2 center and Vatrano to help with scoring depth. Ana has the cap space for Marner and adds an elite wing to their team by trading from an area of strength.

Bert and Domi take a discount for term. Leafs throw money saved from Marner at Roy and Skjei (or similar mould). We don't have a true #1 so need to have a solid top four. Lots of options so far available (pesce, tanev, montour, carrier, gothisbere, zadorov, demelo, walker)

Bet on health of Woll with Broissont as back up. Murray is insurance (if healthy) and also can see Hildeby getting some reps too. Want to avoid locking up a goalie long term with so many prospects coming around.


Matthews/Nylander/Reilly get support from Mctavish/Knies/Cowan/Minten coming up next.

JT contract coming off the books helps to resign McTavish, Knies, and McCabe.

This roster is at 24, with Minten being able to play in AHL if not ready. There is always injuries as well during training camp.

Leafs not in LTIR and have cap savings to help with deadline adds.
