It's on the weaker side of returns, since POJ won't have much value. BUT Marner has a full no move clause, so he would be in control of his fate, which lowers the value.

2025 1st + 2024 2nd + Prospect (I would prefer a different piece than POJ but Pits doesn't have much going on on the prospect front... So Maybe 2026 2nd?) + All that cap space.

I would consider it from the Leafs side. Marner would need to come with an 8 year extension.

I still think Pittsburgh's best play is to trade Crosby and go full rebuild... I know that's blasphemy to most people but it's their best move.

Yea thats gonna be a no. Pitt really does not have much of interest for a Marner trade compared to

    VGK, CAR, NSH, etc

As a Leafs fan I'm interested in Bunting, but not for Marner. I don't think Pittsburgh has the pieces, or is unwilling to move parts of its core that would be attractive.

If Dubas was dumb enough to offer that and Marner willing to waive Toronto would have to be stupid not to do it... But then again Blundering Brad is GM in Toronto now so who knows what boneheaded move he'll make next?

Don't forget one of the reasons Dubas left Toronto and probably the biggest reason was upper management/ownership wouldn't let him break up the core 4. And guess which one of the 4 he most likely wanted to move? BB has a long history of hanging onto the wrong players for too long and losing them for nothing / next to nothing in the end.

    Vegas - over the cap
Car - at the cap ceiling
    Nsh - lol

Marner will be going to 0 of these 3 options…

We say that about VGK every year but they always manage to make these kinds of moves

    Eichel, Hertl, etc.

Would not surprise me if they get a Marner deal in the works

Yeah trading sid is the best move from a gm perspective but from a franchise/fan base perspective it is not

The issue with going full rebuild, as you touched on with Marner, is the NMCs. Even if the Pens wanted to go full rebuild, which I can understand both sides, it would require most or all of Crosby/Malkin/Letang/Karlsson/Rust to come together and waive their NMCs
