Big cap crunch for LAK.

If he’s willing to waive, which he may not be. LAK may simply rather spend that cap space on Roy than Gavrikov.

And I can’t see a team paying more than a 2nd at the very most. It’s not like he’s significantly raised his stock since that was his UFA market value. I’d probably expect a 3rd if LAK tried to sell him

Canes decline. Smith just isn't good, and if they want to replace Teuvo they could do that with... well, Teuvo... they could also just bring up Nadeau too
