Note: Reports prior to Sept 2023 were originally graded out of ten, and also included additional categories that have been merged into the current categories.
This likely results in the overall ratings prior to 2023 being decreased in comparison to reports since Sept 2023.

For an `Apples to Apples` comparison between players, we recommend only comparing reports before, or after, Sept 2023.
Results will average out accordingly as more data is accumulated.

His element is offense Leans shooter more than playmaker. A goal scorer more than a distributor Ability to play the game quick and fast. A competitive player. He works but his overall 3 zone detail has a long way to go. At this stage in his development he has not shown he can be deployed in key defensive zone scenarios or be used on the PK. At the college level his average TOI (15:22) come from ES and PP. Used on PP#1Mar. 12, 2022Mar. 17, 2022

A perplexing player who is still young enough to be considered a prospect. Moves fine. His pace has improved since his draft year. His element, as a draft, forecasted to be a mid-range contributor offensively. He produced as a junior and playing pro in Sweden. There have been some significant set backs with his game at the NHL level. To date he has not solidified himself as an NHL regular / played to a specific identity. Three zone detail is pretty sound. Goes to net looking for pucks. Decent in transition. Worth a 'buy-low' price. Only 23 years old.Mar. 2, 2022Mar. 3, 2022

Has worked hard to become an NHL player over the past several seasons A proven scorer at the AHL level who has turned himself into more of a 2-way / checking / PK forward at the NHL level Doesn't bring much in the way of a physical element. Skates well. Pretty sound three zone awareness. Depth NHL player who will always have to earn his job.Feb. 21, 2022Feb. 22, 2022

P2
Big body. Veteran right shot 'D' In the past he has shown he can produce offensively but lately that element has been trending down. Brings a presence. Manages the game. Recognizes his limitations and plays with himself. A #4 on a mid-range team. A #5 on a good team. Averages over 20:00 per game. Moves fine. Can make simple plays with the puck.Feb. 21, 2022Feb. 22, 2022

After a very good playoff last spring/summer he looked poised to take his game to a more consistent level. Unfortunately that has not materialized. A big body forward who can create havoc when he is moving his feet and using his large frame to disrupt opponents. Has shown the ability to be a reliable match up / penalty killer who can bring secondary offense. The bottom line is you don't know what version of this player you get on a regular basis.Feb. 21, 2022Feb. 22, 2022

Currently injured It's been a difficult year Has not established himself at the top of the lineup as the second line 'go too' centreman Everything has been off. His handles have been inconsistent. He has had a tough time stringing consistent results together. His 5vs5 play has ranged. At times he has been invisible. A much better player than what he has shown this season. Needs a fresh start. A reset. Mid range pace. Solid skill. Reliable IQ.Feb. 21, 2022Feb. 22, 2022

It's been a struggle this season The entire team around him has had a tough year This player is much better than his stats reflect Easily identified. He's a shooter. Elite hands in tight space. Quick release. A threat on the PP. At even strength he has struggled to be involved enough offensively. Not enough touches. Not enough results for a player with his offensive element. He will always lean offense and have some holes in his game defensively. When he's not scoring, or at the very least a threat to score, he blends into the game Has time on his side to improve his overall detailFeb. 21, 2022Feb. 22, 2022

Has endured a challenging year. His stats have fallen off but they don't tell the entire story. He has not had the same amount of support surrounding him this season. Chalk this season up to a learning experience and hopefully a 'one off' Top end skill and mind. He can be used in all situations and trusted on the defensive side of the ledger. Added weight and strength has resulted in more stability in the hard areas. Remains a key piece of the puzzle to build around moving forward Can be used in all situations.Feb. 21, 2022Feb. 22, 2022

M6
Heart and soul player who leaves everything on the ice Competes. Cares. Gives everything he has. When he isn't producing offense he contributes in other areas with his aggressive style of forechecking and battling in the hard areas. His production, however, is falling off and his durability will potentially become a concern as he continues into his 30's Has the pace, skill, and brain to be used in all situations. Leads by example.Feb. 21, 2022Feb. 22, 2022

Getting a chance to play games at the NHL level with number of injuries in Mtl system His stats do not tell the entire story Amount of high danger shots Mtl goalies have had to face this season is well above league avg Good size. Good feet. Tracks the play pretty well. Mostly sound positionally. Pads are a bit too active at times leading to second chances against. Rebound control can improve Low end of average playing the puck. Butterfly goalie who has earned the opportunity to compete for a back up job next season. Young enough to be considered a prospect.Feb. 21, 2022Feb. 22, 2022

Works Competes in the trenches. Battles along the wall. Extends plays. Consistent. Better than average puck touch. Leans shooter more than playmaker. Tracks back the full 200ft. Doesn't cheat. His skating stride is unusual but he gets places on time. Element is finding pucks and pushing back in hard areas of the game.Dec. 11, 2021Jan. 17, 2022

Big body goaltender who plays a Butterfly / Hybrid style Good gloves Pucks find him in traffic when he positions himself at the top of his crease due to his large frame Moves and tracks pucks well laterally Rebound control is an area of concern at times. Plays puck very well. Ability to outlet long range and clear pucks from pressure is a plus Prospect who is on the riseDec. 3, 2021Jan. 4, 2022

A solid skater. Above average explosiveness and open ice pace. Agile. He has the feet and mind to make small area plays. Aggressive when required. Not shy. Can play with an edge. Plenty strong. Leans 2-way defender at the pro level. Secondary point producer is possible but not an element that is a sure thing. Used regular shift and PP#2 at the college levelOct. 29, 2021Jan. 1, 2022

Captain of his team at the NCAA level Used in all situations On the PP he distributes and shows ability to walk the line / provide deception Do not see him as a PK contributor at the pro level A secondary option as a transitional defender / point producer / is possible Aggressive in the offensive zone pinching down and keeping plays alive More than a bumper ... he closes the gap and finishes his checksOct. 29, 2021Jan. 1, 2022

Getting his feet wet as a Freshman at the college level His game leans offense Slides in and out of the game over the course of 60 minutes Has ability to have more impact Somewhat of a limited role this season but has found a way to create some offense as a playmaker Room for improvement in all detail categories. Has time on his side.Nov. 26, 2021Dec. 15, 2021
