Cole Beaudoin Scouting Reports

Beaudoin's skating is going to be the one area that NHL teams break down the most in relation to his potential upside at the highest level.
Big body. Competes. Hockey brain to be used in a variety of roles. Heavy along the wall. Absorbs contact along the wall to extend plays. Has the ability to rip pucks from the weak side flank or set up shop as the bumper / net front looking for tips and rebounds.
Skating stride reminds of Boone Jenner in CBJ. Wide tracks. Work to be done as he matures.

Beaudoin played to his strengths in OHL playoffs with Barrie. Although the group was eliminated in the first round he produced 2G-3A in 6GP.
Power body. Protects pucks very well off the rush - especially when entering the zone on his strong side. Threat to score on the weak side flank on the PP. Up to speed he isn't a pure burner but his stature makes him very difficult to check and move off the puck.
2-way / Power forward / projects to have top six potential at the NHL level / Likely deployed at even strength and PP.

Beaudoin produced 28G -34A for the Barrie Colts in the regular season. He ended up (+2) defensively and averaged between 18-23 minutes per game TOI - deployed in all situations
Power body - Solid skater in open ice - up to speed he attacks off the rush with good pace and uses his large frame to drive to the net. When he gets the edge he's hard to defend heading to the paint. Leans shooter / finisher more than natural distributor / playmaker. Rotates well on the PK - gets in the shooting lane - body positioning ranges but he's in the area and in the way
Compliments a darting center - goes to the hard areas - finishes

One of the most interesting prospects in the 2024 draft class.
Big. Strong. Power forward approach. Shooter more than distributor.
Best work comes down low in the offensive zone extending plays and physically taking opponents off the puck.
Sets screens net front
Works up and down the ice. Skating is fine on straight lines. Room for more explosiveness out of the gate. Compliments more darting / motion line mates.
Best suited to play his strong side and make plays on his forehand.
