Filip Hronek Scouting Reports

Much of the attention, for good reason, falls on Hughes in Vancouver. But it might surprise people, in the early stages of (23/24) that Hronek leads the group with an average of 24:30 TOI

He's playing to his identity offensively without sacrificing detail defensively.
Hronek hasn't been known as a player who can be relied upon in key defensive scenarios. He's dabbled in the role, when he was playing in Detroit, but provided mixed results at best.
Fast forward to his start in Vancouver and you will notice a much more engaged player.
He makes mistakes at times, it's impossible not too when you log this kind of ice time, but his secondary effort / compete to recover has gone to another level.

Mostly area defender in his zone - not overly physical - good stick - limited to only four games in Vancouver after being acquired in trade from Detroit (22/23) due to injury - In Detroit he averaged the second most TOI - 21:31 and scored 9G-29A in 60GP - he was used in all situations - credited with 97 hits and 54 shot blocks - Has the ability to QB one of the PP units - or compliment the top unit - walks the blue line - equal parts shooter / distributor in offensive zone - agile - opens up shooting lanes - also reads the play and moves to open space / back door seems - has the ability to beat goalies clean from distance - also nights he struggles to get pucks through to the net - leading to shot blocks and easy zone exits for opponents - only 25 years old - entering final year of contract that pays $4.4M - RFA at end of (23/24
