New York Islanders signed Marcus Högberg (2 Years / $775,000 AAV)
He was a good BSen, and had a decent start to his NHL career, but it quickly became apparent he was in over his head backing up for a truly dreadful hockey team. Hoping for the best for Hoggy. Surely this means the Isles no longer need that Sorokin guy now, right? Send him to Ottawa as a thanks for the years spent developing Hogberg

Seattle Kraken signed Lukas Dragicevic (3 Years / $950,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyScotty</b></div><div>Considering how long they have been in the league, I think the Kraken are setup pretty well at D prospects:
LD_______________RD
Ryker Evans_____Ty Nelson
Caden Price_____Lukas Dragicevic
Evans and Nelson look more NHL-ready as two-way players and project as top 4 pairings. Price and Dragicevic have lower floors but higher ceilings so they are good gambles to take if one or both hit.</div></div>
Are we ready to say any of those guys are top 4 quality? They've all been dominant in Jr, but that's expected for a drafted player. None of those guys move the needle for me. Seattle's biggest weakness is their defensive side of the game, and none of those guys will likely change that.

Seattle Kraken signed Lukas Dragicevic (3 Years / $950,000 AAV)
Back when he was drafted, I thought Dragicevic was the steal of the Kraken draft given they landed him at a spot well below his projected draft position. RHD is a position where the Kraken prospect pool is lacking in depth so I'm glad to see him under contract. Hopefully Seattle's other 2023 draftees follow suit soon.

How Much is Jiricek
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>Extremely. They would need an equivalent high end piece plus a bit more coming back. Jiricek is the only player in their organization that has the potential of top pair RHD. They won't move him unless it is absolutely necessary and the return would have to be high end pieces going back. Your trade has a bunch of mid to lower end pieces in it, nothing if interest to Columbus. They have a bunch of mid pieces in their organization right now.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Aebexz</b></div><div>Jiricek for a soon to be waiver’s pickup, a former 7th rounder, a late 1st and 2nd? I don’t think so</div></div>
I'm seeing a lot of disinterest in this post so I guess my values off, I really didn't see much more than a maybe top pair dman/likely top-4 dmen in him but I guess I'll need to watch a little bit more.
Meant no disrespect with the offer.

Honestly don't mind Seattle keeping Eberle, especially with how bad the returns have been this year at the TD.
*Edit* Can't say I love the full NMC

(WSH/CAR) - Kuznetsov for 2025 3rd (CAR)
Even with 50% retention, the absolute maximum I'd spend on Kuznetsov is a 7th round pick.
You can even make the case that Kuznetsov with 50% retention has negative value.
Washington wins the trade.

I like it, great deal for both sides! Forsling gets to stay in beautiful tax-free Florida and takes term for a slightly lower AAV than what he could have got on open market. Good for him!

Instantly becomes one of the best contracts in the NHL. Can't believe Forsling was once a waiver claim. His career trajectory is nuts.

Maybe where he came from helps explain why this seems like he settled for less than most thought. Also, living in Florida helps lol
