ACGM just made a thread proposing Detroit trade Fabbri, Holl at 50% retention, and a 2nd for Mikheyev, who was outscored by Fabbri lol.

Fabbri, Holl, and 2nd, for Mikheyev at essentially $6.45M.
We’re paying an 2nd to acquire a guy who scored less than Fabbri in more games, and then effectively paying him $2.45M more than we’re paying Fabbri.
You’re a genius lol.

Do I care? The point clearly being made was that Yzerman grabbed impact players with later picks.

Wild aren’t interested in giving away Rossi. So they will keep him. Your opinion that he doesn’t have a ton of value</div></div>

On the other hand, if Rossi had a ton of value, he wouldn’t be on the block.
Probably a swap for another change of scenery prospect at the same level.

I thought this as well and then realized they don’t have any more retention slots.
His best value is probably to a team that can retain him at 50% at the TDL.

Detroit currently has Walman, Edvinsson, Chiarot, and Maatta at LHD with Albert Johansson presumably re-signed to make 5.
Zero reason to take on Krug. He’s a surplus position for us with a contract longer than Husso or Holl’s.

I too enjoy trading assets for a guy with drug problems on a 6 x $6.125M contract, a year after the same GM had to retain 50% for a 7th round pick just to get a guy with drug problems out of his organization.

Why in the world would you ever, ever want to give up anything for PLD?
Guy was outed by Torts as lazy three years ago. Blake missed the memo and should've been fired for the absurd amount of moving he did to bring PLD in and sign him to a massive contract.
No need for Sweeney to make the same mistake. Boston needs a center, yeah... Just not that one.

Have To
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>I question the level you mentioned as above him. Prospects are fickle and the fail rate is high even among the premier guys, it’s why I would never do what Buffalo did to Levi. UPL seems to have recovered from poor handling earlier in his career.
I can look at Augustine and say he’s the best we had in our junior system at the time. He was arguably the second or even third best goalie in the Big 10. Not a rip on him. Just an acknowledgement that there is work to be done and where he is at in the developmental cycle. He is absolutely a real prospect with a good pedigree. He was a worthwhile second round pick. How many second rounders consistently stay in tbe NHL? I’m all for you being excited, but a prospect isn’t proven until they are</div></div>
By "What Buffalo did to Levi" I assume you mean rush him to the NHL... Which likely isn't going to be a problem considering Cossa is way ahead of Augustine in his development.

Never said Smith wasn't. (Would put Michkov above him, but nobody else) Realistically, it's elite 1C potential vs. high end to elite Top pairing D potential. I agree Smith wins.

Crippling your future center depth to add a 2nd line winger is absurd lol.
Good wingers are easy to come by. Good centers aren't. And when they are, teams are fighting over them.
