Stian Solberg - comparable Jacob Trouba. I think gms will draft this guy HIGH.

It all looks bad at present value until you see Hronek do nothing for half a season and realize you have to remember the future, and thankfully Yzerman does.

There's a lot I like here. JVR - good. Roy - great! Matchessault - if he signs that, then also very good. I'd say forget the Zucker signing especially. Rather keep Berggren and give him a shot there. Especially if we enable that kind of situation with Compher and Marchy I have to think he can slot in there. Motte is also a nice add. While I like returning Perron and Fischer, totally take what you've done too.
I would then keep Holl and not sign Stecher. If we have the money, Holl is fine. Not sure what happens with Husso then. Such a question mark but if someone would take him for cheap then I like your options. Not sure about doing just 4 years on Ray

More importantly though, but a single piece fills a need for the Jets. Winnipeg is trying to win now, so trading a top 6 winger for futures doesn't help that cause. Outside of that, none of the players are a top 4 RHD or 2C with term or team control.</div></div>
Yeah I completely agree. Was more so asking on value than the return as I don't believe the wings should do this either and it's not how an Ehlers trade should look.
My hope is they get a top 4 rhd for him, but unsure if the premium that the position demands will be in play for Ehlers. Obviously he's a talent, but for years Wpg fans that know his game knows he's not the type of guy to help you win when it matters. Hard to see that being lost on gms but I suppose for a Hronek or Pulock type, it should be fairly even value. Would be nice if Jets can also target a RHD in free agency

NYR trade - I'd like to scrap the Lindgren and Walman swap, drop 500k retention from Trouba and make it a 3rd
I do really appreciate what you've done to the defensive part of our defence, Roy, Ed and Trouba make us substantially better, Lindgren probably helps as well but Walman can play his part if we add all those other guys.
I am against resigning Kane, but can admit if we improve our defence THIS much then he'd be good to have back.
CBJ trade - can't see them doing that and would like different options in net but would take it if they take the deal
Do you think Veleno gets dealt if Kasper looks ready?

Does Wpg expect more than this in return? I've never been an Ehlers fan.
I am more parts wings fan than jets fan but asking this as a fan of both teams

The Bruins desperately need a top 6 line driver, and overpaying DeBrusk could stand in the way of signing one of those guys down the road or cause them to lose another young piece due to a cap crunch. Despite the successful season, the Bruins are still in a retool, and flexibility is still king at this point.</div></div>
What do Bruins fans think he goes for on the open market? I've been doing red wings acgm's offering him 6x6. Would like the player but don't think I'd go higher. Saw someone give him a 3x3.3 the other day lol, so trying to get a gauge

Ok fair enough. I won't bother to target him then as I'm not willing to trade 'pry someone away' kind of prices for a goalie

Best case you get like 10th and 11th picks next year draft. Worst case you get 15th and 32nd. Plenty of value in these draft picks. Logan Mailloux could allow you to deal Hronek for a forward (like Ehlers), or keep him and have a strong defence group.
Newhook adds to middle six.
More cap space may allow you to resign likes of Lindholm etc.
Xhekaj bros bring you physicality in a system and coach that they'd thrive under.
Idk Vancouver... I was a big Patterson fan for a while, but he doesn't move the needle as much as I once thought. This is a huge offer.

No I stand firm on this one, already negotiated with other NYR fans. If you don't want Holl in the deal then prepare to retain 2 mil on Trouba. Don't fault you if you rather keep him but most guys are eager to dump him.

I honestly don't know much about him either bc he hardly played last season lol. But as a bottom pair defender at a prime age and wanting to prove last season wrong, probably is ok.

Mika has plenty of value. Trouba also has value imo but it's a ton of salary to take on so then I become less willing to pay. I would do Trouba for a third if you take Holl back.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aecliptic</b></div><div>Let me ask you something. If Trouba was a free agent this year, what do you think he could get on the open market? Is it more/less/or on par with 6.5m?</div></div>
Ok still not sure where it's going now as you moved from Trouba to Zib to Trouba.
I think fans have drastically varying takes on Troubas worth. Lots of fans hate him, think he's bad, whatever. I'm not in that camp. Have held ground for a while that he's the rangers captain for a reason and is quite valuable. I think I'm near the higher end of what fans think of him. I also think gms are going to value him at least as much or more than fans do on average.
All that said, equal to or less than 6.5. at age 30, I bet someone would give him a 4X6 or 5X5.5. maybe even slightly more.
So do I think Trouba is worthless in a trade? No. Maybe at 8 mil though you can't find a trade partner, everything considered. At 6 mil, maybe you can but they're not willing to 'help out' the rangers / are going to have to make other moves to make it work. That's why if Detroit were to take on both Zibanejad and Trouba, I said I'd love to have them. But we'd have to make so many accompanying moves that I wouldn't want to pay a bunch to get them. Considering the picks we'd need to dump other guys.

If we think we can make the cap work I think we'd have to take those deals. Maybe take out the third unless you retain more on Trouba and just include him in the Zib trade as no value.
