This is really rough for Washington. The Caps likely aren't going to re-sign Lindholm and he doesn't seem to be someone who fits in the Caps scheme anyways, but more importantly they aren't interested in trading away Sandin. It leaves a large hole at LD, and I imagine MacLellan isn't super keen on making big buy trades like this one when the team is on the fringes of the playoffs.
