Why not? Detroit was a top 10 scoring team. Edvinsson is a major upgrade over Holl, Johansson and Maatta area wash and a major upgrade in net.

I think the ullmark trade is pretty close. I think most people are expecting effectively 2 mid second round picks with preference on players already in development. Obviously bruins would be more interested in 1 round picks or players but it all depends on what the market value ends up being.

I don't think boston is interested at all in taking the husso contract though.

I’m expecting equivalent value to a first round pick plus depending on where it is . Detroit just happens to have two prospects (not among their top guys) who make up the difference between a second round pick and that point. Fan of Buium after watching the NCAA’s

Kane is likely gone , so too is Berggren

Danielson is the only rookie forward with a dot of making the team

So Boston gets Husso, Buium and 4 draft picks for Ullmark ???? little too much I'd say
Your 2 top lines have no physical strength and will get run over by the likes of Boston etc.
On D you have a Gost the turnover machine or Petry the tank commander (as in tanking the season) playing with rookie Johansen. Not a good combo
Otherwise doable but not advisable IMHO
Need a lot more physical/sand paper types especially on top lines and better choice on D-men

Well ullmark is for sure an upgrade I. Not convinced that the defense is upgraded. A rookie defender and ghost who can't play defense could be a disaster.

Kane is definitely a huge question mark but why do you say Berggren is gone? Could they trade him? Sure. Could they also see a potential 20 goals for a 1M cap hit? Also sure.

I don’t necessarily disagree with your take, I’d love a more physical team, but with the Seider and Raymond extensions, plus a couple of bad contracts, I’m not sure what options are out there. The 1 obvious one is replace Gjost with a Roy or even Chatifield type to improve the blue line.

My thoughts were Edvinsson > Holl, and Johansson = Maatta. But I’m not opposed to signing a guy like Roy or Chatifield instead of Ghost.
