How does Marner sign an extension in Minnesota when the Wild have less than $6 million in cap space for next season plus $4.65 million from Rossi and Gustavsson going out?!?!? And that's with 12 forwards ($40.9 million plus Marner), 6 defensemen ($19.4 million), 1 goalie ($2.5 million) and $14.7 million in dead cap (Parise and Suter). I don't think that $10 million is going to cover Marner's extension, never mind the cost of filling at least one position in each area of the ice.

Why do so many Toronto guys persist in trying to shoehorn Marner and his $10.9 million cap hit or future extension into cap-stressed rosters like Minnesota ($14.75 million dead cap next season) or Los Angeles ($20.9 million to re-sign Quinton Byfield and fill both goalie positions and eight other roster slots)? I would have thought that they'd gotten the picture by now.

Rangers don't even consider that absurd trade offer. Schneider isn't available, period.

Not looking to deal Schnieder. if we dealt Trouba on the other hand, we could look to get Lily for a 2nd-round pick.

Parise and Suter buyout when Manrenr contract is up is approximately 1.5 million in dead cap. They’ll have cap space and we are 4.903 million of the cap this year means they’re getting him at 6 million only

As well Wallstedt is ready, so their goaltending positions is solidified with MAF and Wallsteadt.

They’re only taking a cap difference of less than 2 millions with that trade
