Arizona should do this.

They can run :
Moser - Marino
Defensive UFA - Durzi
Valimaki - Kesselring

Not a bad trade for either team, especially if Utah wants Marino to get slowly better! Sorry, you can’t have Joshua, he’s coming to Edmonton haha. Also, what’s your stance on using the 10OA to get a starting goaltender? I wonder if they do that before draft day.

I think the general consensus is that that would be an expensive thing to do. I don’t think we are opposed to moving down but moving completely out of the first round seems to be extreme.

Interesting… even to get a legit starter? I’m talking a Ullmark, Saros with an extension, or Markstrom type guy. I would think that if the right deal came to upgrade the team, they would pull the trigger. I appreciate the feedback, and insight though! Thanks!

To move #10 overall pick, it would have to be a pretty good goalie with term. Swayman is probably the closest comp to Schneider trade in 2013.

More likely we move back in 1st round and add some assets, perhaps a goalie. For instance, Minnesota is looking to move up in draft and maybe use Gustavsson to do so.

If I had to bet, I’d think we keep #10 and trade for goalie after draft as many of the possible targets either have big bonuses or extension windows opening. Nashville probably doesn’t want to move Saros as rental, so would wait until after July 1. Boston probably wants to get Swayman wrapped up before they move Ullmark. Florida probably wants to secure a backup before Knight is moved.

Interesting.. I didn’t think of it that way! Thanks for your insight. It would be great for y’all to get a good goalie, but that’s the hard part. Even if you pick with 10OA, you will still get a good prospect there also. I don’t see Boston trading Swayman, but it will be interesting to see what New Jersey does with that pick, and what they do to get a goalie as well. Moving back to 13, and grabbing Gustavsson could be a smart move if you think he can bounce back next season, or you could always wait, like you said till July and snag a guy. Thanks! Have a great one!
