This late in the game…we would have an idea if Celebrini’s grip on 1st overall was loosening. I think it’s probably baked in now.

Two players I am interested in
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>squashmaple</b></div><div>Why? Because he’s big? I can’t find a single prospect evaluator who agrees with you on that. On one side you have an elite skating former 12OA, WHL defensive player of the year and captain currently leading his team (likely) to its first ever WHL championship who’s actually two full weeks younger vs an average skating, rangy NCAA D who’s won no awards and projects to be a middle pairing player if he’s lucky. In fact, I actually prefer Mateychuk to Jiricek if I’m choosing between two Jackets prospects. So I’m curious what makes you draw that conclusion.</div></div>
Just my personal preference. Rinzel is indeed bigger, but I like mobility and calmness. He is great with the puck in own zone, especially under pressure. He was Gophers top dman by end of this last season (Minnesota has been dman factory in recent years). He also played very well at WJC. He should get more attention from prospect evaluators going forward (I feel like many of them just base their lists off draft position).
I don’t want to take anything away from Mateychuk. He is good too. (Ty Smith won WHL dman of year twice in a row)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nhl_oilers</b></div><div>Not a bad trade for either team, especially if Utah wants Marino to get slowly better! Sorry, you can’t have Joshua, he’s coming to Edmonton haha. Also, what’s your stance on using the 10OA to get a starting goaltender? I wonder if they do that before draft day.</div></div>
To move #10 overall pick, it would have to be a pretty good goalie with term. Swayman is probably the closest comp to Schneider trade in 2013.
More likely we move back in 1st round and add some assets, perhaps a goalie. For instance, Minnesota is looking to move up in draft and maybe use Gustavsson to do so.
If I had to bet, I’d think we keep #10 and trade for goalie after draft as many of the possible targets either have big bonuses or extension windows opening. Nashville probably doesn’t want to move Saros as rental, so would wait until after July 1. Boston probably wants to get Swayman wrapped up before they move Ullmark. Florida probably wants to secure a backup before Knight is moved.

I have no dog in this fight…just offering my view of a fair deal. I’d prefer Rinzel to Mateychuk.

Would hope we keep our overall number of picks
So even if we can't drop, we could get some late ones back.

He couldn't return in his uniform because there was too much blood on it.
But still returned wearing nameless #49 to finish the game.

Sorry you are not a winner
Only thing I would push back on would be taking Yakenchuk at #13. Should be last guy we are taking. All offense (we should have covered between Luke, Dougie, Casey) and pass completion rates are among lowest in WHL (reason guys like Bahl and Smith hurt us this year).
Would rather move back further and take Emery or Elick if we add RHD. Or just take Jiricek at #13.

Foote goes home
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>Hard disagree.
Greentree may be something of a late riser. But no thank you. Helenius is twice the prospect Greentree is. I would take Helenius who is a likely JEE 2.0, over Greentree, who is more likely a Green<strong>way</strong> 2.0 than a Boldy 2.0.
Furthermore, Catton could absolutely be there at 10. Especially if there's a run on defensemen through the 6-9 pick range. Which is highly likely given this years D class.</div></div>
Greentree is the player who plays to score, doesn’t play to win. Was on one of the worst CHL team in years. So it made sense why he looked so good in prospect game (no roles, no system, no coaching), and so badly at U18 (specific roles, system, coaching). I think he drops pretty far.
