As a Detroit fan I'd rather keep Berggren but I've never been a big fan of Garland. I do agree that Vancouver should keep Garland.

Maybe when Eichel was on Buffalo. Sadly TML brass didn’t have the balls to pull the trigger years ago

Tight cap space
Tanev isnt taking a pay cut and Dutchy isnt going to get that much, especially since NSH is still paying for the next few years. That is also a very expensive 4th line you have for no reason.

Agreed - I'd rather keep Jokiharju at his expected next contract value than overpay for Hronek, who won't offer a lot more to Buffalo than what they already have in their top 3.

Apparently Burns is on the market

He’s not an offensive dman so traditional counting stats were never great and not a good barometer of his play. I will say he did have a rough start to the season by his standards but played really well until getting hurt in playoffs. I don’t think he’s going to get what he’s looking for but it also won’t be a short cheap deal. If for some reason he was looking for a prove it deal like that he’d have signed in CAR by now.

statistically? he's a defensive defensemen and one of the best in the league. if you call with anything below 6x6 i don't think the call is returned. this is why people need to stop basing their opinion off stats.

He’s not. Just a few fans on here loudly complaining about him. Maybe they do deal him but that’s not what it seems like FO is interested in doing. They might already lose half their D, they’re not going to willingly lose another piece and make over 2/3 of the back end. And just bc they move him doesn’t mean they all of a sudden increase what they’re willing to pay for any of the UFAs. Lastly, he’s got a heavy NTC so unlikely a match can be found with the 3 teams he’s looking for.
Also that’s atrocious for Pesce.

If they're moving burns it would be to extend Pesce. And if Pesce was going to sign that, it would have been done forever ago. Try 7x7, since that's what he's looking for

I wonder if they actually did that trade whether it would free up the retention slot that SJ is currently using for Burns?

Not sure why, but there have been multiple posts on this site with Canes fans trying to dump Burns. I guess they feel his cap hit could be better spent elsewhere. If the Canes are dumping Burns the Sharks would definitely take him back. I'd take less than the 3rd. The 3rd was based on a Canes fan's post.

Mikheyev also has a better SA/60, FA/60, and CA/60 in each of the last 3 seasons. He also has better PK numbers (although he doesn’t play it as much as Copp does)</div></div>
Mikheyev averages 47 seconds a game on the PK. Vancouver has 14 players that see more time on the PK . While Copp averages 2:20 a game. Copp has been in the running for The Selke Trophy 3 times. You can say what you want but if a player is that good defensively he gets more time on the PK.

Easy pass for Detroit. Copp fills a need at centre. Is our second best on face-offs. Had two more points than Mik despite only having 34.5% of his starts in the o-zone compared to 52.9% for Mik. Not to mention he was playing with Pettersson for most of the season and Copp had Rasmussen and Fischer for most of the season. Both are good defensively and it's almost impossible to determine who is better in that aspect. Also Copp is from Michigan playing for his home town team.

With McDonagh gone and Fabbro out of favor, id consider that from Nashville's perspective.
