Trade Deadline. Both are gonna get prime minutes on this team. If they bounce back you can get great returns. not a guarantee but they are also not the focus of this deal. they are simply a byproduct of making it happen.

That's a win in my book.</div></div>
Like most trades, this trades “winner” can only be decided in years to come. If EK65 does great and is still at his norris caliber for 2-4 more years and the pens win another cup then absolutely this deal is a total loss for the sharks. but if he and they don’t perform well and we get positive value out of what they gave us and it helps turn the ship, then i’m all for it.
I will say that clause was a bit of a stinger, top3 or top5 would have been preferred.
As much as I loved EK65 since the moment he got here. He unfortunately had to go. By the time we would have been competitive he would have been old and way over paid. At least now we got stuff back. Could definitely flip Hoffman and Granlund at the deadline. like i said, it’s impossible to really say who’s the winner, who’s the loser on a deal that just got announced.

goodrow has negative value. maybe if it was only 2 years left on the deal. but nobody is gonna take a bottom 6 on a heavenly overpriced deal for 4 years other than a team like the sharks

correct me if i’m wrong but i think he grew up a rangers fan. im also not opposed to retaining a 1-1.5 mil. he’s an awesome middle 6 winger. has 20 goals and 50 points in him. especially with all ur center depth you have.

Modest Off-season without trading EK65
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LittleBuddha</b></div><div>So who is AB going to replace in the Avs top 6? Not Landy. Not Rants. Not Nuke. That leaves Lehky. Probably not since he not only is younger, similar numbers but still better, and helped us win a cup. I'm not seeing that happen. AB is not a C so that rules out MacK and JT. So at this point, AB as a 28 yr old 3rd line winger is not worth a 21 yr old top 4 D, sorry... on your team a top pair. Just because the avs have 5 skaters that are legit top pair D men in this league does not mean they will give one away for something that they dont need. Its called depth and it is why the Avs are still in contention for the division title even with the insane amount of injuries they have had this year.</div></div>
Barby would be that depth you are talking about. He would play in middle 6 and be on your second powerplay. I think it’s a slam dunk win now mode to continue to be able to roll 4 lines with brutal efficiency.

I think it’s fair. barby is a full on top 6 forward on a cheap deal. Bowen albeit has the potential to be a top 4 defender but realistically will not get a serious shot in COL. Girard and Toews are ahead of him and are very pivotal assets on this team. and he is going to look to be paid. His value is only gonna diminish from here. and with COL in a win now mode as you would be with all your talent. players like barby help you not bowen

He’s a very solid player. The guy had terrible puck luck. He is very serviceable bottom 6 center. If the wings don’t need him. He can go somewhere else.

Price and Allen are huge question marks. Gives you a young goalie and clears cap space.

I believe kaapo could go down one more time(could be wrong). Could depend on his contract. Also We could easily just trade Reimer who is better in the moment and probably worth more anyways.

We (the sharks) wouldn’t do Hoffman for obvious reasons. Also with you guys kinda of doing a retooling of your own. I don’t think trading away at least a second, probably more is the right play at the moment.

I could even see where you guys do it with price.
Even is Price comes back, he is not gonna be in a situation where he can play 60-70 games. Probably more like 40-50. I personally don’t see Allen as a legit option, maybe you guys disagree but. Hill also is way younger and RFA controlled for after this year.

It is. EK65 was not as moveable. And was actually way better this season. Albeit in a role that played to his strengths than burns. Vlasics buyout sucks. Depending on where we are. I could see is giving up captia for vlasic salary rather than a buyout.
