<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canuck4life</b></div><div>How would you know they have no interest? Multiple "insiders" suggest the fit looks good. Canes have a lot of uncertainty on the blueline, especially the right side with Burns now a year older. Some stability on the back end makes sense. I've seen you suggest that KK has sooo much value, is that why there is talk of a potential buyout?
See the logic of the deal makes sense, we take the risk of the 6 year contract while hoping for upside, Canes take less risk taking on 2 years of Mikheyev who at minimum can be a solid role player.
If you think you're going to get a franchise altering player i think you may be mistaken.</div></div>
Speculation, but Pesce's better and cheaper.... the contingency has always been if Pesce walks. If Pesce stays, which is what they're hoping for, Hronek isn't needed. Burns, Pesce, Morrow on the right, Hronek... doesn't matter. Hence, no interest. As for your KK buyout BS, Friedman discredited that a week ago. Carolina like the player, other teams want the player because he is a buy low candidate. Not a dump! Stop it now. No interest in this package

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gordfish</b></div><div>I don't see Necas being a fit in Vancouver, either, TBH.
We're hearing he wants 8 mil per. If the Canucks don't want to pay Hronek or Horvat that much, are they willing to give it to Necas. Why? Plus, apparently he wants to play centre, which would push Petey to the wing (not ideal), and he's chaffing under Brind'Amour. Tocchet is even more demanding on details and defensive play, and probably will be even less inclined to play Necas at centre than Brind'Amour.
His speed and skill are certainly intriguing, but it doesn't seem like the right fit to me.</div></div>
Necas doesn't want 8... what? LeBrun put his next deal somewhere between 6.5-7, which is 100% in the realm of possibility for Necas. And if you think Tocchet is more defensively demanding than Rod, you're out to lunch

Necas' deal won't be more than 7 coming off a 53 point season, doesn't have the leverage, Jarvis has to be bridged, torn rotator cuff, torn labrum, broken finger, and he's only 22. You can't sign him long term when he's coming off a season with an injury list like that

Both can play both sides, and it would give Nikishin a partner he can speak to in his native language while he learns English

Ew, Ullmark is a lateral move from Freddie. More available, but worse in the playoffs. I'd rather take a run at Poitras

Grabbing all the Czechs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsWoahWoah</b></div><div>At worst its a lateral move, more likely an upgrade. Ullmark is also younger and healthier - he could provide stability for the next 5 years in Carolina whereas Andersen is likely done soon. Canes also get a highly-valued prospect in Lysell who should be ready for top 6 minutes next year and a first round pick in exchange for Necas' rights - a player who by all accounts does not want to return to Carolina.</div></div>
Ullmark is out of contract at the end of the year, so he doesn't provide stability. Lysell is interesting, Ullmark isn't. It's not enough for Necas. Necas doesn't care if he's in Carolina, he just wants top line minutes, which is completely reasonable for someone of his talent.

That's true. Shame Hronek shouldn't be a top pairing RD man, really. If you get one, then we can talk, but Hronek is a fine second pairing D man, he's not a top pairing guy.

What... In the postseason Freddie had a 1.9 GSAx, Ullmark had a -0.5. Ullmark was worse than replacement. Freddie struggled in the Rangers series, but was EXTREMELY impressive in the Isles one. Freddie's life threatening clotting issue only let him play 16 games, but he was still better. Not to mention, in the last 3 years, he's been a + .920 goalie twice for the Canes. Ullmark's been .920+ once. Freddie is the better goalie, stop it.

Grabbing all the Czechs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsWoahWoah</b></div><div>Small sample size for Andersen, he only played in 16 games this year and was coming off a relative down season last year. Kochekov had some shaky moments this year and I don't think Canes management is sold on him being the guy long-term. At worst, Ullmark is an equal to Andersen... at best he is a Vezina caliber goalie upgrade.
Canes management probably doesn't want to rely on a oft-injured 35 year old goalie to contend. Ullmark would at least be able to give them stability and high-level goaltending for the next 5 years... which Freddie cannot.</div></div>
The issue is, it's not worth moving Necas for a lateral move in goal, which even you said Ullmark probably is to Andersen. Kochetkov played a starters workload this year and was good. No reason to think he can't do this again. Ullmark is of 0 interest for that reason.

.915, compared to Andersen's .932 and Kochekov's .911. Not worth moving Necas for. No interest. He's a good starter, he's not an elite goalie, and his playoff resume is worse than Freddies

All lebrun refrerenced was that they are in win now mode and would wanted want to end up with futures, as mentioend above those can always be flipped but the reality is as i said if they have prioritize some of the other contracts they may not have many options for necas, unless hes will to sign another bridge,</div></div>
What? Stop and think before you speak. Why would they bring back Skjei? That's why they signed Orlov. Guentzel, Javis, Necas, and Pesce can all be brought back with space to address the 2C hole, or they can keep Teuvo if they want. So, they lose Skjei and keep everyone else. They aren't trading Necas unless they're getting an upgrade. They want to keep him, have room for him, and have a way to please the player. Necas doesn't want out, he wants top line minutes. Carolina can easily accommodate that.

OS Right Play For Necas
Canes snap match, they can afford it. So, in this situation, you're getting your picks tied up for 7 days, can't commit the cap space to anything else, and can't sign players to replace him. You'd have to do it July 1 too, because he has arb rights which would make him OS exempt, so the Canes have no issues snap matching this OS
