2018 redraft top ten
I'm pretty sure the Oilers are much happier with Bouchard at 10 over rasmus sandin. Sorry didn't see you moved him up.

In the event of the worst possible outcome with the first 6 picks in the draft
Should still be a lot of quality players available at 41, and the Flames will get one of the top defensemen if they want no matter what if the draft falls this way.

There are 4 defensemen with #1d potential that could drop to 9th. I haven't seen anything linking him to the Flames.

I like Xhekaj but there's probably a better defenseman available at 9th.

I hope we are, lots of potential 1Cs in the top 5 next year. I'm pretty sure Hage will be a top 20 pick. I'm really high on Beaudoin, he's probably the safest pick in the draft, would be a perfect Backlund replacement in a few years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MyTeamsSuck</b></div><div>Buium. Anyone else and the pick should be Catton. Buium imo is the best D in the class this year, so if he falls to us I’d love the pick, but Catton looks like a better Zary and maybe a 1C? Maybe?</div></div>
I've seen him compared to Lindholm, so if you think he was a 1C I guess. I'd take any of Parekh, Buium, Dickinson or Silayev over Catton. I'm hoping one of Boisvert, Hage, Beaudoin, or Lunchenko are available with Vancouvers pick. Probably wishful thinking tough.

If Dickinson is on the board at 9th the Flames take him. He'd be the perfect Noah Hanifan replacement.

Unretained for a 3rd maybe. I know his points weren't there this season, but he plays a big role on our team. And Pageau is a cap dump.

I'd be fine with it if the Flames drafted Iginla, but if you're actually looking at team needs that's the last thing we need. 3 of our top 4 prospects are all LWs. We need C, RW and RD.

Terrible trade for the Flames, losing a 1st roundpick to get a guy who could easily be there at 9th is terrible asset management. Probably not even the BPA at 5th.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>Lily is a bottom pairing D on the Leafs a team that didn't have a good D corps and he doesn't hit. Pachal and Kylington weren't bad playing 2nd pair. in Calgary Do we want better defensemen for the 2nd pair? Sure but Lily isn't the answer.
Hanley got waived by the Stars not the Flames. He was actually surprisingly good defensively in Calgary, not just on the bottom pair either. Is he a long term solution? No probably not but he's better and cheaper than Lily. Then there are all the prospects who are NHL ready or close.
On top of all that, Lily is an arbitration eligible RFA with a 1.5 mil qualifying offer or roughly double what Hanley and all the prospects make. Hard pass on Lily, he has almost no value to Calgary.</div></div>
Lily played the 3rd most minutes per game of all torontos defense men. Kylignton and Pachal were our bottom pair not our 2nd. Lily averaged about half a point a game, pair him with a defensive guy and he should be fine.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>Lily would be more like the 7th D with those two gone. With them still here he be on waivers after training camp or traded for a late pick before camp.
Kylington, Miromanov, Pachal and Hanley would all be ahead of Lily on the depth chart and it's very likely so would at least 2 of the prospects.</div></div>
I'm not a huge fan of the player but be realistic here. Kylignton was OK, got better towards the end of the season but we still don't know what we're getting. I like Miromanov, but his sample size is way to small to know what he going to be. Pachal is a bottom pairing d man who hits. Hanley got waived and couldn't even solidify a spot on our bottom 6 last season.
