Only guy willing to waive nmc
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bedsy_Burner</b></div><div>Those aren't lies. Show me where Robertson has played a full healthy 82 games season... I'll wait. Show me where he has had the consistent enough production to have GM's thinking "I'll pay a 2nd for him." He has absolutely had an injury riddled young career. Every GM in the NHL would likely leverage his injury history in trade talks, unless they either like to gamble, or, for whatever reason, they have a lot of confidence that it won't happen again.
And saying that TOR needs affordable depth is not "nonsensical". He is not arbitration eligible, has a QO of $813K, and doesn't have a consistent body of work to command much more than that, unless they wanted to come in a bit higher to get a little more term out of him in hopes that they get a bunch of surplus value. If he is as valuable as most TOR fans seem to believe, his injuries are truly a concern of the past, and he makes $813K, TOR would be stupid to move him now before he has another full season or two under his belt and they can raise his value even further. It is only nonsensical if you can't comprehend how the business side of NHL teams work.</div></div>

CHI has quite literally set themselves up to help other teams with their cap issues in exchange for valuable assets. They have no other reason to be interested in older high AAV players and pending UFA's around the league. That being said, you have conflated two ENTIRELY different talking points because NO ONE has ever insinuated that Robo should cost a 1st to dump or that he is even a dump to begin with. He just isn't worth a 2nd round pick. The dude is 5'9", will be 23 going into next season, hasn't had a healthy season yet at the pro level, and hasn't put up the production to be worth anything close to what TOR fans have been asking for him. If he is so valuable, why would TOR even consider moving him? The answer is, they wouldn't. So, either keep him or accept his market value and trade him. But don't get mad just because CHI doesn't want to overpay for your player.</div></div>
Whos mad sir texts a lot?

also, if knies is signing that, it's because he stinks. he doesn't stink, so he's getting a bigger bump than that.</div></div>
8 year deals bring them both to 37 yrs old. Its a small AAV now but if you use some foresight its not actually a bad deal. Lets say you give bertuzzi a generous 6m for the next 4 years. That’s still 6.2m shy of the guaranteed money he’d be getting from this 8yr deal. And then at 33 years old, you’re not getting many favourable contracts from there. He’s got kids now.. you think he wants to pick up and move the family every 2-3 years? Nah. This is his home. And they have the chance to something really special and go down as a Ontarian hero’s. Not to mention the economics of having their career earnings front loaded so that they can invest it. You know mlse will have no problem structuring 90% of the deal as a signing bonus. Got nothing to do with luck pal. They’ll have their choice, and they’re entitled to that, but you could verywell see a very long and surprisingly low aav here

Was born into leaf fandom. Just enjoy the show. We have another decade of playoff teams. Best is yet to come
