Crazy as it sounds, I don’t think they should do anything to crazy. Only move I’d make is try and bring in a winger for Mika and Kreider. And replace Gus with Jones. I’m curious to see what we have in Jones, Rempe, Edstrom, Berard and Othmann.

I posted that recently, could be a potential move, at the same time, Bordeleau finally learned how to play NHL hockey and played significantly better towards the end of last season, so IDK if management will want to move him

Tkachuk
I would pay a lot to add Tkachuk. That's not just 4 first rounders, that's the equivalent of 3 early firsts, plus a later first in Rosen. All on elcs. Just overpay for crouse or similar if the cost is this ridiculous.

Even at RW, the math still doesn't work for me. You have Igor, Laffy and K'Andre to re-up + about a half dozen RFA at the end of 24-25. This is what happens when the Ranger Brass perpetuate putting the squeeze on themselves. The Ranger can afford 1RW at $4-5M given the current CAP hit. Your points about Skinner are spot on, but it's the math that is the problem.

Maybe if it was Zibanejad instead of Trocheck. NYR can't afford both Zib and Pettersson. Over 20m in cap. Kreider going would make it more likely Zib waives also.

I'm in the camp that says start the re-tool for the Rangers. I would do this deal, but I think Drury would pass. Also, Toronto may not be on Kreider's good to go list.

Marner In New York
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattan</b></div><div>Probably not imo</div></div>
I have Kakko for a fourth rounder (a second rounder if the Canes throw an offer sheet at him) which on its face suggests I would take this in a heartbeat. That said, the draft pick is the "shiny object. The offensive productivity of both is a wash. Kappo get the edge because he is stronger on the puck, and he has more upside potential (never thought I'd say that about Kappo). I can easily support your view, but for some reason that I can't explain, this one just doesn't feel right to me.

Walman is a bit cheaper, better puck mover and provides better offense. Lindgren is stronger defensively. It's basically a change up to mix things up a bit. More or less I want him to make our defense better defensively.

I mean if DET can dump Holl and take Trouba that works. Or rangers flip Holl else where. I was too lazy for that part

Rangers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rednwhite</b></div><div>I don't think Detroit takes that deal unless the Rangers retain Trouba down to the 6 million range. Detroit needs the extra cap space and paying a 8 million for Trouba over the next two years doesn't make sense. It is nice we get out from the last year of Copps deal but his buyout is only 2.7 and 1.4 if we were to buy him out of his last year.</div></div>
I disagree. The Wings would basically be paying $2.375M to massively upgrade the right side of their defense. Is Trouba overpaid by a couple million? Absolutely. But so is Copp. A reliable 2nd pair right-handed defenseman is exactly what this team needs, and Trouba is that. We can easily replace Copp as the 3C. Not to mention the one less year on that contract should be a huge appeal to the Red Wings.
Edvinsson - Seider
Walman - Trouba
would be a huge upgrade over what we've seen in previous seasons.
