Tampa Bay Lightning signed Niko Huuhtanen (3 Years / $925,000 AAV)
I don't know how they did it yet again, but this guy has a legitimate shot at being the greatest ever NHL mr. irrelevant. And similarly to the current title holder, Hörnqvist, Huuhtanen has a decent but not huge frame(though admittedly bigger than PH), is a strong skater and is not afraid of physical play. A bit reckless with penalties at times but that can be ironed out, or, if the results translate, won't matter. I've seen him play live, he plays with the confidence and maturity of someone far beyond his age.

That Tanev trade may be the absolute dumbest non complete troll post I've ever seen on here. TB gives up 2 RD one who's proven to be a 4-6 in the league and one who Jon Cooper said would absolutely have been on the team this year if it weren't for the salary cap and a mid round pick for a fourth liner. So, you either know nothing about Crozier and Perbix, have no concept of value or are a complete troll. If you think this is at all good for TB.
Lilleberg is better than Forbort.
Montreal probably doesn't do that trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Steven_Stamkos</b></div><div>Both of the goals were very weak arguments imo. Duclair did nothing to impede Bob's ability to slide across the crease and try to stop Cirelli. And Cirelli didnt even interfere with Bob. I think he sold on both of those plays, and the decisions were weak. Either way you can't blame the refs. Sucks and is annoying but can't blame them. But this series wasn't 4-1. Game of inches and we just got some bad breaks and outcomes. Powerplay definitely did let us down for the most part. If we would've capitalized on just 2-3 more of them total throughout the series, we might've been up 3-2. But again, game of inches haha.</div></div>
100% the series ended on a question mark. But Florida won the series in the big moments prior. When Bob made that insane save part of me died, those are the kind of saves your put in Stanley Cup montages.

The power play lost us that series. We had a ton of chances and didn't really capitalize at all.

Thoughts on the Cirelli non goal.
And the Duclair non goal.
I think the Duclair one is fair enough. But also think, if I goalie is trying to reach around a players leg to get to a puck, do they get the benefit of they don't get it? Is the player supposed to let the goalie just reach out and cover?
The Cirelli goal, looked fishy, it's a net front battle and looks like Bob is initiating contact to get a call. But I'm aware of my biases so I'm conflicted.
Panthers won this series, but it was close. Tampa's 4-1 loss and Toronto's inevitable 4-1 loss are very different.

Such a good prospect and a complete steal for the Leafs in the later stages of the draft. I cannot wait to see him in North America, he is going to turn a lot of heads. Remember the name</div></div>
He’s been such a good under the radar guy who I see having a future with the leafs

Solid contract, look at players like John Marino, Mikey Anderson, Mattias Samuelsson, etc who've signed this type of deal, Chicago has all the cap space and once they start competing getting Vlasic at 4.6 will be huge

New York Islanders signed Marshall Warren (2 Years / $825,000 AAV)
Warren looked to be solid pick his first year at BC, but plateaued in subsequent seasons. While he rebounded at bit in 2023-24 in his graduate season at Michigan, it still appears a ways from from being a top prospect. Anything more than AHL depth would be gravy.

I love Ace. But I don't wanna see him higher up the lineup. He's the spiritual successor to Yanni Gourde and if our depth allows him to be a force on the third line in all for it.
