My take on Necas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MTL_VANfan</b></div><div>Every team needs veteran leaders, SJS doesn’t have any. Granlund isn’t a vocal guy, so I thought it would behoove them to go out and get some guys. Kuz is on a really good contract - his playoff performance shows that - and KK can easily turn into a top 6, defensively responsible C</div></div>
Those two guys aren't leaders.

I call him the loading bar.
He has all the skill and ability to be a 60 point guy, but never gets there.
Like a loading bar that gets to 90% and just never gets there.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DFinn91</b></div></div>
Ceci isn't a dump though, he's played the third highest 5v5 TOI on a Cup Finalist and has a low risk contract. Over the past 10 games he's been on the ice for just 2 goals against at 5v5 (and none on the PK), which is the best rate in the NHL over that span. His steady play is one reason why Edmonton is still playing hockey in June.</div></div>
He is in the eyes of the Sharks.

I think the Sharks would want a higher pick, but they probably would make good trade partners.

He excelled under PDB.
Boughner was awful as was Quinn. The team really was bad too.
I think he can get back to 50 points, but he's not going to be a star 200 foot guy. Never was.

Sharks are the last team you need to retain for.
Can you add the 25 2nd (either team) for Sturm as well?
I really think he'd slot in perfect for you at 3c or 4c (depends on game/match up).
Stay away from Myers.

I can't imagine Burns would ever come back, but I'd love it if he did.

Not good on the Sharks under Quinn. Quinn is a garbage coach.

Supposedly the price was a 1st. They don't want to move him, but I think that's a fair offer value wise.
I wouldn't move him if I'm SJS.

Marner Waives To San Jose
I think the trade is one asset too many. One thing needs to be removed from the SJS side.
Sharks would be stupid to do this trade. He doesn't fit the timeline.
Only way I do this if I'm SJS is giving up way less which is unfair for Toronto.

After all the BS with Holtz and Meier, if he came to SJS I'd laugh pretty hard.
I don't see us giving up #14 for him if one of the dmen are available though.

There are veterans already here.
There are better/cheaper UFA options.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jamnjon</b></div><div>I point this out frequently, but I give the Athletic's prospect pool rankings a major asterisk. The biggest thing for the Sharks is they've had very few prospects graduate. Teams like Chicago had Bedard, Korchinski, and Vlasic graduate while the Sharks only lost Eklund. That's not to downplay the massive growth of the Sharks' pool, I just think I'd rate them below a few more teams.</div></div>
I don't even think SJS is top 10 in terms of pool.
Maybe after this draft.
There are good dmen mid 1st and early 2nd.

They just seem to make sports harder and harder to access. Advertising revenue.
