Maybe if Ryan Graves is the centerpiece of the return from PIT, would that work for MIN?

Honestly that is a really good team but I don’t think Minnesota accepts, IDK why but I feel they need a Center.

Tbh there is still 10 million in cap space, PIT could easily do it without the retention.

Tbh I think Lou would be all over it, he loves players with cup pedigree and Toronto badly needed a DFD at that time.

Fair enough. It seems to me that both teams are looking for something different, for EDM they want more physical players, whereas Toronto wants cap space.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>Acciari is probably too expensive for the Avs bottom 6 going forward. Next year's bottom 3 for the Avs likely consists of ELC & league min contracts vets, and Acciari would likely be in that bottom 3. I've no idea how Puljujarvi looked for you guys but he could be a possibility as a reclamation project (am surprised the Avs didn't look at him last year tbh). No idea how he's valued in Pittsburgh though. Would make it only a minimal cap add for the Avs which is about as much as they could afford.</div></div>
Yeah absolutely I wouldn’t mind sending you Puljujarvi. He’d be a good player for Colorado’s bottom 6, honestly.

2 Meek Players As Crosby Linemates
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jfkst1</b></div><div>Rutherford drafted almost no one of value. Kapanen and Sprong were decent depth forwards, but also neither were especially late picks. Shero left a much better than rated prospect pool that consistently was ranked in the bottom 10 or 15 in the league yet yielded a lot of quality: Guentzel, Maatta, Dumoulin, Rust, Sheary, Murray, etc. was easily a top 10 prospect pool. Those players helped tremendously with winning the two SCs.</div></div>
Exactly, one of my followers said that although he left in a disgraced manner, Ray Shero & John Hynes had a very important role in the Penguins back-to-back cup runs. They didn't have many firsts besides the Maatta & Pouliot picks, but they found so many lower picks that turned out to be really important contributors.
I'd say that is one thing that caused PIT to slip post 2017. The first was they started to trade first round picks for players not worth that value such as Reaves, Kapanen & others, but they also didn't draft well, or at least not many young players have been incorporated into the team like in 2015. A lot of the prospects from 2015-2019 should be contributing with the first team now, but they're not.

Yes exactly, but what stood out to me during those years was we seldom gave up top prospects & picks, unless it was to acquire a star player like Kessel who still went for less than his usual worth.
Most of the time, we were picking up under-the-radar or underperforming players but they worked with us cuz they fit our vision.

The guy is only 28, he’s still in his prime. PIT wasn’t the right fit cuz of their system and the players around him, but he could easily turn the corner going back to COL like Jack Johnson did

Remember the Scuderi for Daley trade? That was a pure robbery from the moment it happened.
The Kessel trade, well, he has a full NMC so the return was limited, but we didn’t give up much for him either. So to get Marner from TOR would be the same type of story.
The Rakell + Acciari trade would be the same kind of idea as Hagelin for Perron.

For Dubas and Sullivan’s philosophy, they want all 6 defencemen and all 12 forwards to be finesse players & capable of contributing offensively.
