I see 11oa as being something they might consider, adding the extra fixins makes me wanna pass, not that a 3rd and Johnson is anything that is super valuable, it's just too much for me

I would pass on the Sabres deal. Taking on lots of money, and not adding anything they need.

He does one thing, he scores goals at 5v5. He adds nothing else, like nothing else. You'd be gambling on his scoring not falling off a cliff, but hes on the wrong side of 30. Considering the Rangers timeline, stay far away. Unless you wanna give us Schneider, then I'd point to his scoring 82 points, just one year ago.

Adams Galaxy Brain Summer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mtdoak</b></div><div>People aren't understanding. This isn't a "good idea" this is what I could see Adams doing. Adding to the roster but not reshaping it like it needs. Finally spending money, but not spending it smartly in a way that addresses actually needs.
This team is better than last years, it's deeper, it had a good 4th line.
It might be a bubble playoff team...but it certainly isn't winning around unless it gets the literal perfect opponent.</div></div>
Understood. I hope he's more aggressive this summer. The developmental coach is gone, this season needs to be about results, and I would not feel safe and secure in my job if was the gm that marched out the current roster.

I don't want our third line to be the misfit toy line. Again. What's that third line gonna do? Defensive matchups, with Skinner tapping his stick at the red line? A third scoring line with Krebs being the straw that stirs the drink? I don't think this flies, that's not a line that looks good on paper, and I think (hope?) That this season is going to be about results, not about growth.

Bruins 2015 but done right
Yeah, I would. I think konencny is capable of putting up offense, and he's more of a throwback player, which is a good fit to me, after watching the Sabres struggle to put together back to back solid games.

Lindholm signs
We have guys that can score, I think any roster moves should really focus on adding 200 foot players, adding grit, and keeping half an eye on the salary cap. I think somebody will pay something decent for boeser, I would rather it not be the sabres.

Danny B 2nd off season
Farabee is absolutely not what we need, especially not for 11oa. It's a question of fit. We have offensive wingers, we need two way wingers, and a fair amount of grit/jam too. Trading 11oa for farabee would be poor asset management.

Danny B 2nd off season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fjordy</b></div><div>Well, I disagree, it's much easier to find a 3C than a suitable top 6 forward or especially legit top 6 C. Considering all the teams and UFA, I saw a lot of interesting options. Of course, not all are ideal, but there is plenty to choose from.</div></div>
*it's easier to find a 3c IF you bite the bullet and get a defensive 3c. Where the cost to acquire and salary go up, is when you want offense from your 3c too.

Wings
Hard no. We have undersized forwards, stacked up to the rafters. What we need, is defensively responsible forwards, preferably bigger ones, the kind that play gritty. Greenway is not some untouchable piece, but the Sabres would need something that they need/want.

hockey trades
I'd consider moving power for a select few players, but I don't think marner does it for me. The sabres have loads of undersized offensively talented forwards, several are on elcs or bridges, I don't see a need or fit for marner at 12m or whatever his extension looks like.

Better
Greenway is a 6'6" 230 pound defensive forward, who occasionally plays physical, and helped our pk go from abysmal to not too bad. The Sabres are loaded with undersized forwards, Greenway isn't some untouchable piece, but the offer here does nothing for them.

Enough Picks and Prospects lets push now
Gotta get some centers in. Thompson and cozens need somebody to take d zone starts and match up in a checking role. Kulich isn't the guy at all for what they need at center, and savoie needs to see the ahl. With what the Sabres should do to their bottom 6 forwards, I'm not sure kulich, Rosen, or savoie has a spot unless somebody else is traded or hurt.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>Why would Montreal offer that?</div></div>
Because they probably have picks 5-15 as being interchangeable, and they can steal Quinn from us while getting one of those interchangeable players at 11oa instead of 5oa.

I get the sense that BUF mgmt will be under the gun to put its rebuild in the past and make the playoffs this year. For that reason, I don’t see them being interested in futures but rather guys that can help them make the post season now.
Does MTL have any such players that they are willing to dangle? Perhaps Matheson, but idk if BUF would be game. Sometimes the pressure to make the playoffs can skew a GMs behaviour—see OTT in recent years.</div></div>
Sabres left d- dahlin, power, Byram, Samuelsson, ryan johnson. Sabres don't need left shot d.

For me, that would be moving up to take lindstrom at 5, and getting pick 26 at the cost of quinn and 11oa. As much as I'd like lindstrom, that's too much. Better to trade 11oa for somebody that fills a need and fits the timeline better.
