    If I was the GM I would make this trade but I just have a feeling the Flyers massively overvalue Cates. I’m hoping they would accept this but I truly don’t know how much they like Cates.

    I agree with you and Csick, I really like him. Perfect center to pair with Greig and in this case Tomasino. Defensive C's are hard to get so I could see why Briere wouldn't want to move him tho.

    I think Cates’ emergence is why they are finally ready to move on from Laughton. It would be a shame if they were a year too late for getting a 1st for him. But if teams were offering a 1 last year I don’t see why Laughton + a 3rd wouldn’t still fetch a 1st. I believe one of Cates or Laughton will be on a new team next year and I can’t see Cates being the one moved

    the oilers would defiantly entertain a trade that would include Kane going the other way, his 5M per is semi problematic for us but I would prefer to keep him but wouldn't be opposed to trading him
