<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Riddick19</b></div><div>Ottawa wouldn't make that deal ever. I think they'd do it with the Bos 1st, not 7th overall. Even if Zegras pans out, in 2 years he'll want a ton of money. Moving on from that 7th overall pick means you don't have that prospect to help on an ELC in the future. Any one of Parekh, Catton, Iginla, Yakemchuk, or Dickenson would just be too valuable to trade for a center coming off a serious injury, and a poor season, with only 2 years left on his deal. The Bos pick plus Jarventie.... I'd go there but anymore than that would be too risky. Our prospect cupboard just isn't deep enough to be able to take another swing like that. Maybe offer Norris straight up....</div></div>

This wasn't meant to be realistic, it's just a fun little idea to bring in USA players to keep Brady happy.

Zegras was injured last year but he's already back playing with Team USA right now so obviously he's good to go. Our whole core in this case is like 24 years old, we're not as desperate for prospects as people seem, it's just ours blossomed quickly and made the team like Pinto, Ridly, Sanderson etc. We still have 3 picks in the top 40 and snagged Connelly, Emery and Surin who are all better prospects than Kleven/Jarventie imo so our prospect pool still gets a nice little injection of talent. Connelly and Surin would replace Joseph and Giroux, and Emery would replace one of the righties.

Salary cap is raising a lot too every season it seems like so I don't see why we wouldn't be able to afford to fit players etc.
