Bringing the US to Ottawa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Riddick19</b></div><div>Part of it would be because it's hard for Ottawa to attract top players. Plus cap rising or not, just means players ask for a bit more of the pie. You need guys really contributing on ELC's in order to compete. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in Z.... But the 7th overall pick would just be overkill.</div></div>
Not wrong. Could just get Iginla at #7 potentially who would fit in so nicely with our group!

Bringing the US to Ottawa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Riddick19</b></div><div>Ottawa wouldn't make that deal ever. I think they'd do it with the Bos 1st, not 7th overall. Even if Zegras pans out, in 2 years he'll want a ton of money. Moving on from that 7th overall pick means you don't have that prospect to help on an ELC in the future. Any one of Parekh, Catton, Iginla, Yakemchuk, or Dickenson would just be too valuable to trade for a center coming off a serious injury, and a poor season, with only 2 years left on his deal. The Bos pick plus Jarventie.... I'd go there but anymore than that would be too risky. Our prospect cupboard just isn't deep enough to be able to take another swing like that. Maybe offer Norris straight up....</div></div>
This wasn't meant to be realistic, it's just a fun little idea to bring in USA players to keep Brady happy.
Zegras was injured last year but he's already back playing with Team USA right now so obviously he's good to go. Our whole core in this case is like 24 years old, we're not as desperate for prospects as people seem, it's just ours blossomed quickly and made the team like Pinto, Ridly, Sanderson etc. We still have 3 picks in the top 40 and snagged Connelly, Emery and Surin who are all better prospects than Kleven/Jarventie imo so our prospect pool still gets a nice little injection of talent. Connelly and Surin would replace Joseph and Giroux, and Emery would replace one of the righties.
Salary cap is raising a lot too every season it seems like so I don't see why we wouldn't be able to afford to fit players etc.

I'd do the trade, just curious on your deployment. Really is a shame Norris has hurt the same shoulder 3 times now.</div></div>
Yeah he would def go up to play with Brady, didn't really put much thought into the lineups lol. Fixed it~ Super unfortunate about Norris, love the player too but I could see a world where they look to move on if possible.

I love when you post, well done again here buddy. I'm so happy to see you give us Nabokov, I'm in love with him right now. Iginla - Jiricek - Nabokov would be an insane draft for us.

No to Ehlers
If they trade for Ehlers you just have to move Norris somewhere for pennies I guess. You'd still have enough money to spend on defense.

It comes down to who the BPA is at #25 or #26.
I have Mews picked here because he's a right shot D, he's from Ottawa and his family has business ties with the community.</div></div>
Id love Mews if we paired him with Dickinson or Silayev~ But at 26 hes gotta be contesting for BPA for sure~

Murat is just throwing stuff at the wall, can remember leading up to the TDL Weibe suggested the Jets might be interested in Tuch, sure Ken they may be interested but so is every other team in the league and why is Buffalo trading their future captain.. 🤷♂️ .. These sports scribes will say whatever whether its rooted in any kind of reality or not.</div></div>
I think Chych just wants to win and play in the playoffs. He would get that in Winnipeg.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>I was actually looking at your roster before posting my initial response. I don't know -- there's a poor fit there. Our primary need is RW. Ridley Greig and Roby Jarventie are LWs and probably too much, Shane Pinto is clearly too much and Oskar Pettersson and Tyler Boucher too little. Our next need is RD and I don't see anyone there that would be of interest. You'd have to do a good selling job on Boucher or Pettersson for a deal to involve the pick.</div></div>
I'd have no problem involving Jarventie lol. Especially since Zegras is another lefty we'd have no room for him~

YOUR 2025 STANLEY CUP CHAMPS
Chych isn't worth Zegras...
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Welcome to CapFriendly. Sometimes, it's not too friendly.
If Trevor Zegras recovers from his two serious injuries this past season and scores at his historic 0.73 PPG rate, he'll be the fourth- or fifth-best scorer on your team even if you re-sign Vladimir Tarasenko (which I see you haven't done). Anaheim doesn't need an LD at all, let alone an expensive rental on a badly underwater contract. If he were on the market, we'd want Batherson or Zub or your 2024 first for him.</div></div>
Would you do #7 for Zegras straight up?
