But UFAs have a built in extension and it doesn't cost any assets. Chychrum's greatest value will be at TDL when a team needs a Dman...retention and not much cap.,

True, but it puts us in the same top-heavy squeeze we’ve been in the past two seasons. I’d much prefer if Staois addresses the blue line and then if there’s cap space, make a move for another forward. I love Ehlers and think he’d be a great fit. Unfortunately and realistically, I think Norris’ value is pennies until he can show that his shoulder can withstand a full NHL season.
